Pakistan never reveal what they truly have
Look at how easily they shot down to 2 jets and captured the pilot
I don’t trust they are transparent about their army capabilities

Think this would be a lose lose war
And if I’d guess I’d say Pakistan would surprise how strong their forces really are

The thing is Pakistan and India has 3 wars already and in each war Pakistan lost badly. If there were to be a 4th war the end result will be no different. If it is conventional warfare and battles than it would be much like ww2 on the eastern front. Although the Germans slaughtered the Russians. The Russians won the battle by utilizing the terrain, prepared for the weather, cut off supplies to the nazis and lastly drowned the nazis with their dead.

India military is at least 3-4 times the size of Pakistan and India has better technology and weaponry. Always remember the first country to use nuclear bomb in the modern era will be the country that loses the war. Pakistan cannot beat India in battles and if they use the bomb. Pakistan will be destroyed by India allies. They are in a lose Lose situation and should not retaliate

You have it half right. Pakistan has the better tech, especially in the air. And China would almost certainly aid Pakistan, if only by massing troops to keep some of india’s Force divided.

I think China would aid Pakistan with weapons but not assist them in fighting. Why would China risk there booming economy for a country like Pakistan?

India air strength is building. Pakistan is using aging f16 jets while India has developed its own jet and purchased some of the latest MIG’s from Russia.

China would not let a war, let alone US assisted India army on its border

It was a Pakistani F-16's vs Indian Mig-21's....Mig-21's are basically Vietnam era fighter jets from the USSR. India has a bunch of them and they are probably going to replace them soon. They were a turkey shoot for the F-16 since those have modern avionics.

Wait, isnt the title a little misleading? Didn't a Pakistani terrorist group attack India first which killed over 40 indian security personenel, and Pakistan did nothing about it because they are either unable to or not willing to, and so India attacked that terrorist group? India did what Pakistan didn't want to do.

But the terrorist attack was not carried out by the Pakistan military. India's response to it was. For instance, Afghanistan didn't attack us on 9/11 (it was Saudi Arabia ), but our response was to attack their country.

I dont know if that example applies here. Al Qaeda wasn't in afghanistan, the taliban were, but the taliban didnt attack us, al qaeda did. if we did what india did, we would've gone and attacked saudi arabia. but thats another story..

the group that attacked india however is in pakistan and so india attacked pakistan in response because of Pakistan's lack of holding terrorists on their soil accountable. If pakistan isn't doing anything about them attacking india, to india it looks like pakistan is harboring terrorists. Or maybe pakistan put them up to it?? How does it all look to India from their perspective? At that point, what is the difference between pakistan military attacking them or the terror group that resides in pakistan? (their proxy?? who knows) If India doesn't do anything, how long before the group (or pakistan for all india knows) attacks india again?

You should get permission first before you carry out an attack on another country's soil.

That'd be like Mexico coming into Los Angeles to carry out an attack on some militant group.

ya i can see how the title is a little misleading because ultimately Pakistan attacked first by using a terrorist group which the deny.

but... this is the first time since 1971 that we used an air attack on Pakistan in retaliation for that suicide bombing

Al Queda wasn't in Afghanistan? Uh, that was their main base. Guests of the Taliban.

India and Pakistan are advanced enough to produce nuclear weapons. Lets hope they are also advanced enough to know there will be no winners in a nuclear war when both sides have the weapon. We were sole possessors of atomic and hydrogen bombs when we used the technology. No retaliation.

When an Indian fighter pilot who had been captured by Pakistan was released on Friday, it capped a humiliating episode for India and a surreal week for him.

First the pilot, Wing Cmdr. Abhinandan Varthaman, was soaring through the sky in a MiG-21 on Wednesday. Then he was shot down by Pakistani forces.

After parachuting into enemy territory and being surrounded by a mob, he tried to eat some of the documents he was carrying, according to Indian news media reports. He was then badly beaten before being rescued by Pakistani troops.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Over the next few days, videos of him being interrogated in Pakistani custody spread on social media around the world.

In one, Wing Commander Varthaman is blindfolded, hands tied behind his back, face still bloody. In another, he is cleaned up and drinking tea.

Friday evening as Wing Commander Varthaman was released shortly after 9:20 p.m. local time.

He walked through a border checkpoint wearing a blue sport coat and white dress shirt, unbuttoned at the neck, and gray slacks. He seemed relaxed. Indian border guards shook his hand and whisked him away. Then he disappeared in a convoy of Indian government vehicles.

Intense shelling erupted along the disputed border between India and Pakistan on Saturday, killing several civilians and making it clear that hostilities between the two nuclear-armed nations were hardly over — only a day after Pakistan handed over a captured Indian fighter pilot in what it called a “good-will gesture.”

At least five civilians and two soldiers were killed, according to officials on both sides.

At the same time, independent security analysts continue to question India’s claims this past week that it had killed “a very large number” of terrorists at a major training camp in a cross-border airstrike.

Michael Sheldon, a researcher at the Atlantic Council, a think tank in Washington, said on Saturday that after studying satellite imagery of the area in Pakistan that India had bombed, he could see “no evidence any buildings were hit.” He added, “It appears to me they didn’t hit their targets.”

Instead, he said, all publicly available evidence and accounts from witnesses on the ground indicated that the Indian bombs had landed in an unpopulated forest and had taken out some pine trees.
