That future Magic/Pelinka/Kobe/Lebron ownership group is doing some work.

True. You just never know. One thing I do know is because the Lakers failed expectations this year will bring up juicy gossip for the media to report, whether its true or not. The media loves a soap opera and when they can report hogwash, possibly like this, they get clicks. There will be many more stories like this to come, I assure you of that.

I am actually surprised that a thought actually crossed Jeannie's mind. She doesn't have a clue about basketball.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jeanie wanted to clear the air with Rich Paul, but no way do I believe she was ready to trade LeBron. That would be a PR disaster of epic proportions for the Lakers, and would further set back the franchise.

Jeanie, and her choices to run the team, Magic and Pelinka, need to make this work, big time. Jeanie and Magic don't have anybody else to blame, there aren't any scapegoats left to be sacrificed.

What I wonder is if Rich Paul will even be that powerful after Lebron retires?

I guess Lebron probably will be, but look at Michael Jordan, what has he accomplished as an owner/exec?

The Clippers were supppsedly going to be hurt by trading Blake, but now they are the supposed favorites to land Kawhi.

We are told that big name free agents are turned off by the Lakers culture with Lebron in the mix, so how exactly does it Hirt the team if they trade him?

Jeannie is toxic just as bad as her (bleep) brother. Hearing of that email about Balmer was cringe as (bleep).

difference between Jim and Jeanie, at least Jim can keep dirty laundries in house, and that's part of the reasons national media hates Jim cuz they couldn't get a word out of him. whereas Jeanie is totally opposite, the woman is so damn emotional, you give her a small bait she'd dish out the entire dirty laundries more than you'd hoped for, and that's why national media loves her, she's making a fool out of herself and this team every time she opens her mouth in public. Rambis' wife being Jeanie's top consultant says it all folks, this ownership needs to sell the damn team.

Nobody is bigger than the team. Especially the most historic franchise in the NBA. This is how it should be.

I mean if we are being real. We had Paul George all but locked up until word got out that Lebron was going to the Lakers. If the timelines don't meet up and there is pressure to make bad deals or signings to appease to Lebron's closing window, then yeah its best to move on. Especially if he is deterring free agents. I know it would probably tank his image if he was traded but at the end of the day its a business. If the Clippers don't want him, then yeah trade him to Houston.

I'm pretty confident in Magic if we can just get a meeting with Leonard though.

Jeannie made sure this got out because she's probably sick and tired of lebron making back door deals, leaking things through his "camp" and walking around like he owns the team. This was probably a way to let lebron know that if he keeps it up she's going to go above Magic's head and trade him. I've got no issue with this, Pat Riley had to check lebron too and it was leaked as well.

If true LeBron should request a trade. He has no trade clause and she may already be thinking about moving him in his first season? Red flag for LeBron.

He can't have a no trade clause b/c he signed here as a free agent. Check the CBA.

Yup, and that should tell you something about the credibility of all these hit pieces.

The subject of moving James, however, was contemplated by the Lakers, a team source said, weeks before [ESPN analyst Jeff] Van Gundy aired it. When rumors engulfed the team at the February trade deadline that it was willing to trade anyone other than James to acquire All-Star forward Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, James’ agent, Rich Paul, was widely accused of spreading those rumors because Davis is also one of his clients. Paul denied to B/R that he leaked the Lakers’ interest in Davis, but [Lakers owner Jeanie] Buss suspected otherwise and was furious. The idea of terminating the franchise’s relationship with Paul by moving James at least crossed Buss’ mind, the team source said, and Paul was made aware of that. That prompted Paul to reach out to Buss to clear the air, and whatever ill will existed supposedly dissipated. At the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference a few weeks later, Buss blamed the media for making the rumors public.

I don't know if you could phrase this in any milder or more meaningless words than: "at least crossed Buss’ mind."

It's a passive form of the passive voice.

If that is the case the source must be the Paul/ James camp setting the stage for the next round of “poor Lebron”

LeBron is manipulative enough to actually try this

After further thinking about this, I think this may be orchestrated for Jeanie to validate her "fake news" statement. I wouldn't be surprised if she does an interview soon to put this rumor to rest and associate it with Anthony Davis saga as being fake.

Jeanie tipping her hand that she knew LeBron was behind Rich Paul's play for AD while pretending to be mad when she is actually complicit.

She clearly did not inherit her father's poker face.

Does the Russian guy still own the Nets? Maybe he'll give us 8 first round picks. I would support a Bron trade, and I wouldn't be afraid of free agents not coming here. Knowing the power dynamics of Bron and Klutch, I think free agents would understand why the Lakers may have gotten tired of Bron.

If the thought did cross Jeanie’s mind the league office could have something to do with it. They are probably tired of investigating tampering charges against the Lakers.
