Just looked at the SI list. Lets say we end up in the 7-10 range. If the opportunity to trade back and pickup Jontay Porter and Brandon Clarke were there, would you take it?

That would take some honkin cojones, but picking up additional draft assets and ending up with one of Porter/Clarke would be pretty ideal.

The danger is falling into the Denver Nuggets trap where they traded the pick that became Donovan Mitchell to the Jazz for Trey Lyles and the pick they thought would net them O.G. Anunoby. But Toronto took Anunoby one pick ahead of Denver which ended up with the fairly useless Tyler Lydon.

And yet Denver is considered a well-built team, justifiably so. My point is that the draft is always a crapshoot at a certain point - e.g., Denver drafted Tyler Lydon, but they also got Jokic in the 2nd round - and this year's draft seems to really be a crapshoot after the #1 pick.

I would have more faith in Jesse Buss and Ryan West's ability to pick diamonds out of the rough at very end of the lottery, or in the back of the 1st round, than I do in the FO's ability to acquire depth via other ways.

If Hunter is available at the Laker's draft position I'd much rather have him.

Mfiondu Kabengele?

6'10'' sophomore on Florida State, a relative of Mutombo's. 6th man of the year in the ACC. Skilled, athletic, can guard 5s. Haven't seen him on any mocks. He looks like a guy to gamble on to me.

Isn’t that the school that Fultz went to?

No. He scored 4 points on 25% shooting.

I never get this argument against players. Fultz clearly has other issues. Either way, Lakers need a good defender and shooter. Thybulle is a great defender and can develop into a great shooter.

If you watched him play you'd see that he is far more than a product of zone. Regardless, he will most likely end up on a team like the Spurs and then people will wonder how they always get such great late talent. I doubt Lakers trade down. They're too obsessed with doing the flashy thing not the right thing.

Hunter at 9 or 10 yes. Clarke at 11/12.... Hunter is 21.5 years old, and Clarke is an old man in the college game at 22.5. I think a couple younger guys at 2 to 4 years younger than them might be the better picks, taking into consideration the age. If the talent level is at least relatively close, than you must consider the age when picking at 7/8/9. Clarke at 22.5 is 4 years older than Zion for example.

I'm all for drafting BPA but this year we best draft a point guard at our spot.

Lonzo takes us hostage.

So you're okay with downgrading at point guard that easily?

Lonzo came out one of the strongest point guard classes in years.

he may have meant to replace, but when I first read it I thought he meant in addition to Lonzo....because of the injuries, have a solid young backup.

If we trade down, I could be interested in Coby White....or maybe even Tre Jones. White has more upside, but I could see Jones being a solid backup that could run the offense.

Only PG's I expect to go in the lottery is Ja Morant and Darius Garland.

Sagaba Konate dressed tonight, but Huggins did not play him. I am actually starting to think he will return to WVU next year.

As backup obviously.

We are out of luck though, as a lot of us know, not enough 1's in the lottery.

potential lottery pick Jaxson Hayes (Texas) just went down with a knee injury, had to be helped to the bench. Unsure how serious.
