Doubt it. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat though.

It's actually a fair trade, and LBJ can go back to the East and win a title before he retires

Klutch for Klutch... I'm cool with it if Ben remains the low key chill dude he's seemed to be... we'd lose the trade for a few years, but since Lonzo's camp has been rumored to be unhappy... maybe it works.

I'd consider it too.

But that Lonzo/Simmons backcourt? Lonzo would be gone in that case.

True lol.

Yeah, LBJ is a monster but I'd be fine with Simmons.

But Lonzo would be the odd man out. BI/Simmons/FA would be how they would run it.

I like Lonzo, but if his family is unhappy... I'd gladly take Ben.

If only Ben could learn to shoot a little, then we'd really win that trade.

Not that I think it happens (LBJ is a massive cash cow for the Lakers) but imagine something like:

Simmons
BI
KL

You could keep Lonzo around but he won't be happy with his role. And we'd be selling at such a low point too. However, 76ers would have to match salaries and that's tough (unless they dump everyone Harris/JJ/Butler).

You could trade Lonzo for a shooter... go for Kawhi to be the star.

Would be incredible to be honest...

And all low key low maintenance stars.

I'm still down for LBJ and believe he will come back as a top 5 player next season.

Even for someone like LBJ, this season was an embarrasment. And he usually comes back hard when he gets motivated.

I think LBJ will have at least two good years. Especially next season.

But Ben would have at least ten good years.

BI would have twelve good years

It's no disrespect to LBJ, he just won't stay good that long.

I just don't think either team does it though.

I don't either but it's a win win... The Sixers are in win now mode and they would probably get a title or two...

We would get a flawed but immensely talented potential superstar.

If Ben could shoot... I wouldn't trade him if I were the Sixers... but because he can't... maybe you go for it and take the risk.

We get a fresh start, and get a player with less baggage who might help us get another star.

Klutch wins because both their stars end up it good situations.

I'd do it too.

How about Lebron (@37.4m) for Simmons (@8.1m) + Tobias (@22.2m) + Zhaire Smith (@3m, keep or trade him for a pick depending on who we want/get with our own pick)?

Simmons / ?? / Caruso or Bonga
Ingram / ?? / Hart or Smith
Kawhi / Bullock
Tobias / Kuzma
?? / McGee / Wagner

One of those ?? gets filled by who we trade Lonzo for.

We aren't trading LeBron.

I will be pulling a lot of the quotes from this thread when some of you jump back on the bandwagon.

Look for LeBron to be right in the mix for MVP next season and for the Lakers to be mercifully back in the playoffs.

Ben Simmons and Lonzo would wreck the league.

Most of you have forgotten already how valuable Lonzo's passing was next to LeBron.

Most of you have forgotten how valuable Lonzo's defense was to the Lakers.

We can find elite shooters at any and all other positions.

You don't need all of them to be elite shooters. If you can land players that shoot over 35% from 3 at the other 3 positions, we're fine.

People are acting like Ben Simmons by himself would make us contenders or Simmons and Ingram. Didn't we already try that with LeBron this past year?

We were better when LeBron AND Lonzo played together, not just LeBron. Simmons is LeBron Lite.

And People keep acting like Ingram is a great defender and LeBron is horrible. Check the SPG and BPG and advanced stats...they don't say that.

Agreed. Plus he’s a big cash cow that the Lakers need if the team isn’t winning rings.

The Lakers need a fresh start... LeBron is not it. He's a cancer and a coward.

I have a suspicion that Kobe and Phil are advising Jeannie and this doesn't bode well for LeBron. The Lakers don't have to worry about any sort of backlash from trading LeBron either. Everyone in sports knows that LeBron is a plague. As long as the Lakers do not dump him, no harm is done at all. If the Lakers dump him, but still end up with Durant/Leonard and Kyrie; all is still well.

LeBron ruined his ability to be taken seriously by Jeannie. He and Klutch are not greater than the Laker Brand.

Lebron on the Lakers gives the Lakers the best chance to win now.

Lebron is not as dominant as before, but if the Lakers assemble a team around him it will work.

The problem is not give up the young core just to win now. Take it as it happens.
The Lakers have a chance to get a second star this off season. Do that right.
And gain some more inside defense and shooters.

Making the playoffs and a winning record is a lot better than 7 years of tanking and being close to last place. Will take incremental improvements.

I get it on Giannis's end. Besides the fact it would interfere with his offseason training, why would he want to join a film where he's supporting (ergo, the assumption is that LeBron is superior) when he's the better player now.

When Jordan did Space Jam he was the best player in the world. That would not be factual if Giannis or even KD (he may still do it because he's cool with LeBron) were in supporting roles for LeBron. Obviously, this assumes that the plot is similar to the original Space Jam, but you get the picture.
