With how the game is played today and who have on the roster going past this season what should Lebrons second star be? Who/what do they need to be competitive with the top teams?

Back court. I feel like the front court guys get marginalized the most (Bosh, heck of a player, Love).

He needs that dynamic scorer (Wade/Kyrie).

Perimeter guy. Lebron is the 4. You can get value at the 5 (see JaVale for the minimum).

Hot take: you can't win a title if your center is on a max contract (meaning they can only play the 5).

Do you think Kemba can duplicate what Kyrie did with Lebron? I do. I think the first two guys the Lakers should call is Kyrie and Kemba unless they know Kawhi has interest

I think so, minus the drama. But Kyrie is no doubt better (and a few inches bigger too which may matter).

not really a level comparison comparison with those players. Kyrie is a much better backcourt player than Cousins or Vuc are frontcourt players so you have to go with the talent.

I'll take Kyrie, Klay or Butler over all of them, but if it's between Kemba and Vucevic or Boogie, I might take the big guys.

He's better, imo. I just assumed the 6ers retain him

Back court. We need a real threat on PG that can score, which allows them to setup other players easily

i honestly see us going after Kemba to be that 2nd sure scorer next to lebron with Ingram being a solid 3rd option and Kuzma the 6th man with Ball being the facilitator. Then maybe trade for an expiring contract like a Whiteside, Tristan Thompson, who has a 1yr 25m or a 1yr 17m deal. Draft Hayes and let be a backup to Whiteside or Thompson for a year. I dont really want Cousins and i think DJ will be back in NY and Vucevic is going to Dallas or the other LA or back to ORlando. The only other C would be Marc Gasol but hes up in age and i want Cousins no where near this team. SO i think with our left over cap we could bring in Whiteside or Thompson while Hayes plays backup and potentally taking over C the following year. I like Mcgee but i think WHiteside and Thompson are both better players. Mcgee im sure wnats a multiyear deal and im just not sure id wanna give that to him ecspeciallyt with AD being a FA next year. It makes sense to find a 1yr expiring C to fill the C role.

Kemba - Caruso
Ball - Bulluck
Ingram - Hart
James - Kuzma
Whiteside - Hayes

It’s harder to find elite guards so we need a back court player.

AD would fill so many holes for us, gives us an interior defender and a guy who is always a PnR threat and screener with any one of our ball handlers. I think we saw this season we often had too many guys sharing the floor who had overlapping skill sets. If we get Kawhi, we may have to look at moving BI, which sucks because I think he will be the best out of all our young guys.

Backcourt/wing. It seems like Lebron can't play with a traditional big without relegating him to a role player in the playoffs (see Kevin Love)

AD can work because he has guard skills and isn't really a post player.

Team needs is interior defense and 3pt shooting. It wasn't a coincidence the team started winning when they got Chandler but he couldn't hold up. It is also true team won more games when they could hit their shots. You cannot run Kuzma at center again.

This is a no brainer, backcourt. We already have too many forwards.

Bring back Brook to start, bring back McGee to come off the bench. This helps with our 3pt shooting, spacing, and interior D.
