Does anyone know the original sources to report this? Has Pincus or another trusted source talked to other GM's and this is what they've heard?
I'm starting to call BS on the whole rumor. |
The Paul George saga. Not only did they refuse to trade George to us, they turned Pelinka in for tampering. NO wouldn’t speak with Pelinka as well. |
Thought the tampering charge was for Magic while he was on Kimmel. |
No it was on Pelinka. He denied it to the league but the Pacers had evidence. I think Magic only got a reprimand. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I know it's not 15 years ago, but Popovich is still livid about the Pau/Lakers trade.
So much so he apparently, without solicitation, talked to Dell Demps about not trading AD to the Lakers. |
it was not because of the pau gasol trade. it was because of the KL requesting trade to LA drama |

The majority of the league doesn't want to see us succeed and will only deal with the Lakers through gritted teeth. That is just a fact of life, with or without Rob Pelinka. |

I sincerely hope Rob had nothing to do with DLO, Randle, Brook, Lou, Zu, Bryant and the whole AD debacle. I’m sure he played some part in it though. |

I'm generously assuming Magic lost interest, like any kid with a shiny new toy, as the job went on (it's possible he mailed it in from the start) so the more recent the move the more likely it was Rob's. |

It amazes me how well ex-Laker players are thriving. I'm guessing Luke will be coach of the year with the Kings next year. |

When Rob was hired, Magic was supposed to be the basketball guy and Rob was the CBA and numbers guy. I guess he's a basketball guy now? |

This whole process has me nervous.
Feels like a power move by Pelinka.
Why is he running the committee searching for a new coach, if we don't have a President of Basketball Ops?
Less people will want the POBO job if they can't pick the coach themselves. Heck they might want a new GM too.
By hiring the new coach, Rob is securing his future here. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

What’s wrong with rob? Seems competent. Magic was the guy making moves which imo have all backfired. |

I actually like him. I think he handles the press well. But I don't trust him to make basketball decisions for the franchise. He was hired as part of a package deal. Magic was the Bball vision, Rob was "the connections".
Nobody loves Kobe more than me. But just because a guy was his agent, doesn't mean that guy knows what it takes on the court to win championships in the NBA.
What's next? Kobe's accountant is named team doctor? _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

He's so obnoxious and corny. And I thought that from day 1. |

I think it’s more likely that Magic still made the decisions except without putting in the proper time to know what he was doing. |

That's an opinion of life. Hiring someone from another franchise, who does have good relationships with other front offices, would be a step in the right direction.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry that people think Rob offering to get fleeced in a trade is some kind of own.
*Pelinka trades Lebron for John Wall*
"LMAO! Guess someone took Rob's calls!! Where are the Rob haters now??" |

We also have no way of knowing what Pelinka’s role in that trade was. |

Once again, if Rob was really gonna be apart of our decisions, there would have been a official word on it by now, if there isn’t, then we are still searching for a new POB. |
