Like I've said before, Lakers and Clippers have switched roles. It used to be the Clippers were the joke of the NBA. Nobody wanted to play for them. Now the Lakers are the joke of the NBA that can't get anyone to play for them. It's unbelievable to imagine the Clippers are actually contending for a championship this year while having the capspace for two max this summer.
The Lakers have a storied history which the Clippers don't have but that history is just that...history. The people responsible for creating that history are no longer with the team. The Lakers today are just a remnant of its former self. If the Buss family really loves the Lakers, then they should come together and agree to sell the team instead of trying to destroy it even further. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!

Did the clippers just win a playoff game?
Or did they win the clinching game of the NBA finals?
Sheesh guys. |

D'Angelo and Julius have freedom on their teams even with starters that they wouldn't have had with Lakers, and I think their play relies on that freedom a lot.
But, Lou carries lineups without a lot of scoring. That's what he does. He would've helped keep the Lakers viable with all those bench lineups that struggled to score. He would've helped keep the Lakers afloat without LeBron. |
+1 And he's a likeable dude too. I didn't get to watch yesterday's game but man am I pleased for Lou and the Clips. Wishful thinking but I hope they can pull off the upset, I'm firmly in the anyone-but-GSW camp. |

They did earn home court after a historic comeback victory, but at the end of day, it's still one game. Might jinx it for GSW, but no matter, that ol' Rudy T quote heart/champion etc will apply and they'll probably win the next 3 to end the Clips' season.
Never going to hear the end of it from my friends if GSW three-peats so I'm hoping they go fishing at some point. |

I know. The day-to-day panic and whining on LG goes on. I thought with Magic stepping down we’d get a bit of a reprieve, but I guess not. I’m guessing there’s been a massive influx of 12-year olds or something. |

I think it's fair to say Doc has coached well and the players are playing above their expectations. But that's it for now. |

He's only averaging 16 points in 15 shots a game for his career, so that's not far off his career mark. |
That's horrible
First game 26 shots for 26 points
Today 16 shots for 16 points. |
23 Years old
Made the all-star game
Actually in the playoffs unlike our team of golden children. |
This is exactly how some people missed on him in the first place.
They are so obsessed with what hes doing wrong that they fail to see his growth or future.
At 23, he is leading his team in the playoffs against a very good team. (And they stole a game)
He doesnt have that much elite talent around him.
His 3rd qtr was key to winning game 1 and his 1st half kept the team in Game 1.
He is struggling as its his first time in the playoffs, but given the fact that hes battling through is big.
At the end of the day, this experience is immeasurably valuable for him and will pay dividends in the future.
But keep making fun of him during the process. _________________ Llluuukkkeee |

Corey Brewer and a Houston first round pick that we flipped to Utah for their first rounder which became Josh Hart and a second rounder-Thomas Bryant.
Happy for Lou but he shouldn't have extended with the Clips for a mere 8 million a year.
He is worth at least 12. _________________ Trade AD now. |

I stand corrected Hero Ball we did get a first who we picked Tony Bradley then traded to Utah for Hart and Bryant. Lou wanted to stay and would have accepted 8 million.Still a very bad trade imo. |

It was an absolutely incredible comeback, but there's appreciation and then there's this:

They are not remotely "contending for a championship." That's utterly ridiculous. |

It seems smaller guys can get under KD's skin.
Remember CP3 shutting down KD?
Bev is an irritant and getting into KD.
KD is an all time great player and is phenomenal, but it's easy to crawl into his headspace. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I know Warriors have overwhelming talent, but if the Clippers can pull this off with no all stars on their team, they have got to be looking over their shoulder every time they get a big lead now. The psychological game is a huge factor in the playoffs. |

Considering they signed Lebron James and four other veteran free agents to sign with them this season, I think that may be overstating the case. |

Warriors blew a 31 point lease. Something with 3-1 doesn’t work for them. |

They'll get served by MIL anyways.
Rockets never said they were better than the showtime Lakers. Rockets don't have 5 all stars. Not a Rockets fan. Not a Clips fan. But

Have to understand the wide range of fans posting.
Some are bball fans that are still watching multiple playoff games and enjoying the show. Disgusted with the Lakers outcome but the season does not end until a champion is crowned.
For many "Laker only" fans the season ended a couple months ago and they haven't watched a game since. The emphasis became tanking and next year. Hail to the banners, no interest in the competition. Laker gear stored away until the next big media event where they can wear it again in all it's glory.
That is fine with me. It takes all kinds of fans. Respect to the Clippers for the comeback. I only saw part of it but that was enough to see the passion they brought to that game. That is why I watch. To see competitors ...compete!
Hope the Lakers from top to bottom were watching because that passion is missing. They need to find it this off-season. |
