Will Monty run more than 1 offensive set in a possession regardless of personnel on the floor? If so, go get em! šŸ˜†

Based on the fact the last two coaches were former Lakers players, Lue is almost a sure lock to be the next HC if it came down to just him and Williams. Third time's the charm?

I donā€™t like the sound of Pelinka being the man behind the coach interviews.

Messina is just another one of those names that LG cannot let go of..lol
Messina is equal to Phil Jackson in popularity.

Does it help that he was a Laker no one cared about? At least Luke was a "fan favorite".

Sources: Lakers GM Rob Pelinka is meeting Philadelphia assistant coach Monty Williams today to discuss LAā€™s head coaching job that is open after Luke Walton was let go last week.

I'm sorry if this question has been answered already, but why Monty Williams? I don't understand the desire to have him coach this team. I'm missing something.

Pelinka: how much of least season do you think was my fault?
Interviewee: uh.... None of your fault!
Pelinka: you're hired! Oh and uh....Offense, defense...you're gonna have those right?
Interviewee: sure! Do you have a preference for which?
Pelinka: uh...whatever the one is where we get the points.

Heā€™s well regarded and in the time since he left NO he has been working for notable teams.

Which coach would potential FA's most want to play for? Probably Monty Williams (if it's just a 2-man race). Lue isn't great and if it's even perceived that it's a "Lebron hire", then we should go the other direction.

Lue is the more successful coach and we havenā€™t heard anything about players hating him.

I don't think players dislike Lue. I just think he's only successful because of Lebron. Remember we tried Mike Brown out because of his success with Lebron? He was garbage. But, now we have older Lebron and if the perception is that Lue would be hired to make Lebron more comfortable, then it may backfire.

I canā€™t take Ty Lue seriously as my lasting image of him is being stepped over by AI

I"m not sure.
I feel like Rob is a bit smarter than that.

Mine is Chubby Ty Lue winning the finals as a coach. And then losing the finals as a coach.

I don't think Lue or Williams will be that much better than Luke.
The reason he was fired is he didn't get along with Lebron.

But this should not be a reason for firing. This is no way to build a team.
Especially when Lebron is on the downside of his career.

Most people have more respect for Magic and Luke than Pelinka.
Best thing can hope for is Pelinka does not make a stupid move.

What would be a stupid move in your opinion? And what would be a smart move?
