The #Celtics will wear a "17" or "Hondo" patch on their uniforms as a tribute to the late John Havlicek, according to team officials

Unlike some other former Celtics Havlicek seemed like a nice guy. RIP

Can we trade Heinsohn for him? We will throw in Ainge and McHale for Sharman

RIP to one of the best. A thorn in the side of the Lakers and their fans, but a class act and always played the game hard. One of the great competitors and champions.

A sad moment for Celtics fans as well as fans of the game in general.

I'm assuming many here in the LG family never got to see John Havlicek play, he played in the 60's. He was a Boston Celtc. He played with Bill Russell, Tom Heinsohn, Bob Cousy on a team that was the first team in the NBA to have a 5 Black starting lineup, Bill Russell, Sam Jones, K C, Jones, Willie Naulls, and Satch Sanders. The team won a record 8 championships in a row. He was the epitome of the Energizer Bunny. He came in from the locker room running and didn't stop until the last whistle. RIP HONDO
