I told you that I'm a BI-fan. So don't take things the wrong way. It's a reflection (pun intended) of:
1. surgery/blood clot scare/recovery
2. extension discussion this summer
3. adapting to LBJ/possible new FA
4. not being able to get in summer work in crucial 4th year of deal.
That's a lot my man. Lots of #swirl. |
I know how you get down, your critiques are fair and objective.
The extension and adapting to a new FA, are legitimate issues.
It takes him a while to acclimate to new roles and teammates. I have to acknowledge that it's been ugly to watch at times. With that being said I'm encouraged by the fact that he always seems to figure it out.
If he struggles initially it might benefit us in terms of signing him to a cheaper contract. I suspect having a more competent coaching staff will make it easier for him to hit the ground running. I may be a bit overly optimistic, but I think there are reasons to be. |
I really do feel for him, b/c if we get a top FA like KL, his role is again thrown up in the air. Adapting to LBJ is tough. Adapting to LBJ AND KL, crazy. He's had to juggle a lot of roles and has played so many different positions. He's been in a constant whirlpool IMO. |
If we end up with Lue/Thibs or Vogel, I think they'l carve out a role for him that's actually conducive to team wins, and better play from him out of the gate. If Luke and company were still at the helm we'd likely see a few months of Ingram struggling, trying to figure it out on his own. |

The tough part for Lue though is he had so many shooters around LBJ.
Kyrie/Love/JR.
Not the same for him with BI/Lonzo around LBJ. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

True.. I watched a breakdown GT did on Lue's offense. In the spread pick and roll sets there are two players in the corners. Ingram shot pretty okay from that area, and Luke had him camping out there in some of his sets, so he might be okay. Shooting from distance needs to be addressed though, no question about it. |

And remember Love played small ball center a bunch. That changes the geometry of the floor and gave LBJ and Kyrie space to operate with the center pulled out. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

It does.. I'd like to see the numbers on offensive efficiency with Tristan vs Love at center. |

QFT
He played his best ball when the trade rumors were swirling at its peak. My guess is the feeling is mutual, so yeah trade him
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qig5zJzC-e0
(Pacers fans chant: “Lebrons’s gonna trade you” - BI calmly walks to the freethrow line with his new freethrow stance and change of mechanics, proceeds to calmly drain both FTs - cold blooded)
When reporters asked him about it, here is what The Humble Beast had to say:

Lol it’s neat being accused of stanning our #2 draft picks on a laker board by someone that joined in Oct 2018 it’s okay, I’ve seen them come and go while we continue stanning.

If we can't support our young guys then what's really left to cheer for? Their success will hopefully ultimately be our success. |

Your cherry picked stats are wrong!
Here, look at this GIF of one play as an example of proof of why. |

Good news for those of us who hope that BI can somehow stay a Laker moving forward... Dave McMenamin who does the Laker beat for BSPN says he spoke to people in the Pelican organization who admitted they liked the Laker offer at mid season for AD, but going into the summer they are more wary of Ingram's health issues (30:45 mark of this podcast).
I hope we land AD as priority #1, but would be estatic if we do so without losing BI. Feel free to ignore the rest of Woj's anti-Laker nonsense in the link. |

if you are rooting for an AD trade, this is not good news. BI likely would have been a headliner trade asset so not sure why the Pels would like a BI-less trade more. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Actually, it was reported that they liked Zo, didn't care for Ingram.
Edit.. I can't blame some of you for keeping hope. But I seriously doubt we trade for AD for obvious reasons. It's not happening. |

Pelicans FO could very well be more inept than ours. _________________ Not a legend |

Brandon Ingram comes back as the same player in every category but is not shooting 3.5 threes a game on 37% shooting, and is averaging 7 rebounds per game.

Add in improved free throw shooting from 67 to 75 percent or better.
Yeah, I’m down with that player. |

Does this mean he becomes a better player? If so, then yes, quite satisfied |
