Yeah, agreed.
But what's the more important role nowadays? The setup role or the closer role?
Milwaukee's got Hader in the setup role and he always comes in for high leverage situations. |

I think I read the analytics suggest if you have a true shutdown closer type guy, it is more beneficial to use them in high leverage points in a game instead of only closing. Even in situations where you may have a 2 run lead in the 8th, and their much better batters are due up in the 8th, you may should consider using your "closer" in the 8th, and using another pitcher in the 9th if you want to limit your "closer" to one inning. |

This is what they used to do back in the day. I forgot who it was but some old-timer mentioned this when talking about Mo Rivera's save numbers. Essentially he said there were plenty of guys back then that didn't get a lot of recorded saves because often there were times that coming in for the 8th was more important than the 9th. |

Agreed. It's the same thing with how the Indians used Andrew Miller. |

We own the Braves lately, at least since Cox and Chipper retired lol.
Interesting that Dave basically threw in the towel for Belly ever manning 1B again too reduce the amount of slides protecting his lose shoulder. |

What are the chances of Ryu winning the Cy Young? This guy is on a roll. |

Can we offer him another QO this year?
Edit: Nope
Quote: | Clubs wishing to receive compensatory Draft picks for the loss of a free agent can make a one-year "qualifying offer," worth the mean salary of MLB's 125 highest-paid players, to their impending free agents prior to the onset of free agency if and only if:
1. That player has never received a qualifying offer previously in his career.
2. That player spent the entire season on that team's roster (in-season acquisitions are ineligible). |

The guy is probably the least known pitcher that has been near dominant over two seasons in the modern history of baseball. I do not think a lot of people across the country realizes how good he has been the last 2 seasons. His production suggests he is one of the elite pitchers in baseball right now.
It will be interesting to see what type of contract he gets at his age (32 this season) this winter. |

Depends on your definition of 2 seasons.
He pitched 82 innings last year and so far 44 this year. Add them up and they don't even come out to a full year.
So yeah, it depends on your definition of 2 seasons. |

Ryu is having a nice streak, and of course I hope that he continues this, but he has never had a full season with a sub 3.00 ERA, though he was at 3.00 and was close another time. This is his sixth season and at this point, with 602 innings in the books, he's had about three full seasons of work.
He's very good and at times great. But he is prone to injury. To punctuate this point, "Iron Man" Rich Hill has pitched 388 innings the last four years, Ryu, 258. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Let’s hope Dave and Andy remember this and let him start only home games in the post season! |

Turner and Seager have turned into absolute butchers in the field, and the bullpen ERA is scary.
I won't even say it. |

Wasted effort by Buehler - pitched a shutout for 7 innings & led 2-0.

Dodger fans are used to it by now....
So and so Dodger pitcher throws a gem. Our bullpen or hitters fail to reinforce our dominant position in the game and the opposing team manages to outscore us in the late innings to win a game. |

Yes, this one isn't on the pen tonight, though Alexander should not have come in. Turner had a routine double play ball that he instead threw into right field to open the floodgates. |

Hi everyone
Quick question I was at the dodgers nationals game on May 10 and I got pretty good seats from work. I might’ve had lots of screen time. Saw myself on the big screen a few times. I’m trying to find an archive or way to download the game. I checked YouTube and found a good copy but it was a sports net version where it was just the game and a few shots of the audience. Is there anywhere to download more of the dodgers live feed/stream? Thank you in advance! _________________ Lakers 2008-2009 Champions!
