So the year after she left was the year Kobe tore his achilles? She must have been doing *something* right...

Honestly this franchise is backwards. Watch fans say if we were just healthy we would win playoffs and championships

Honestly... Some fans are clueless and blind. There's a lot of support for this hire as a solid one. For all the blunders the FO has made recently give them credit when they get one right. There are no Savior, Star Trek Doctors braking down the doors. If this were Baseball The Laker's need runners on base, the hole is deep. One Blast is not gonna catch us up or put us back in the lead in the NBA. 2nd Base hit by the FO.

The fact that she was with Kobe in the Olympics shows she is good at her job.

Concur, if she’s been able to meet Kobe’s standards overall the years, this is a solid re-hire. When Byron took over he decided she was not needed and let her go.

Now we’ll see if longtime trainer Alex McKecknie during the Phil years will be able to to return.

I don’t think that Vitti is doing anything

I doubt that a poster on LG can tell if Seto is good at her job or not.

Apparently, her employment was tied to Kobe, when he retired, she was let go. Vitti also retired. It seems the team wanted to go in a different direction, so Jen Swanson from the Bulls was hired.

Yeah, she went back to working at a PT facility after Kobe retired.

When Mitch and Jim were running the Lakers, Vitti was still seen around the office. For some reason, there's a report saying that he's been "noticeably absent" since Mag/Pel took over.

http://www.espn.com/blog/los-angeles-lakers/post/_/id/43743/in-consultant-role-ex-lakers-head-trainer-gary-vitti-absent-since-teams-regime-change

"But since the team's dramatic front-office overhaul Feb. 21, when Lakers governor Jeanie Buss fired her brother, Jim, and general manager Mitch Kupchak, and promoted Johnson to president of basketball operations, Vitti has been noticeably absent."

My comment really has nothing to do with Dr. Seto and everything to do with the organization. There was NO indication WHATSOEVER that she wasn’t excellent at her job or that there was any reason to let her go in the first place. Watching this .org chasing its own tail is killing me and I laugh to keep from protesting outside of Staples

Yeah, she went back to working at a PT facility after Kobe retired.

Thank you -- most recently it looks like Dr. Seto has been working with Markelle Fultz at that PT facility since December. Hopefully she can help the Lakers stay much healthier than in years past.

He retired

Even after retirement, the article is saying he made his presence felt and kept a small office while spending time around the facility -- but that changed after Mag/Pel took over. He also had post-retirement 3 year contract to act as a consultant for the Lakers.

I don't get the bashing on this one in the slightest? The front office obviously deserves monumental amounts of criticism overall but this is a great hire imo.. They need to revamp the medical staff with more then just her but this is a great step in that direction from literally pretty much anything i've ever read about her over the years. There's a reason she was regarded as Kobe's "Secret Weapon".. She's not like Vitti where she's afraid to adapt new techniques either.

For people that don't know she has been working with the Dodgers the last few years and also recently was just asked to work with Fultz by the 76ers to help him with his rehab.

What’s the difference between an athletic trainer and a physical therapist? Because I heard we’re trying to hired the Toronto Raptors trainer who is very very close to Kawhi.

Former's focus is on physical training, the latter's is on physical recovery.
