This is pretty much what I was thinking. Pels aren't going to do us any favors 'cuz they don't have to. I fear we'd get short changed in any kind of deal for AD. |
And I'm sure they're aware we're not going to do them any favors either. |
They can be dicks but their leverage is not that high since AD is an expiring... they can screw both us and themselves by accepting lesser value package |
They aren't going to do anything that doesn't do what they believe to benefit them most.
They aren't interested in screwing us, only serving themselves. |
Hope you're right, Rumors the Pels owners don't like the Lakers |
That may be the case. And the Celtics/Lakers hate each other but that hasn't stopped them from trading when it made sense for each team to do so. |

I still seriously doubt that NO trades us AD, even with the pick thrown in. I know demps isn’t there anymore, but I think he gets sent out east.
Draft the BPA, sign the best FA who will come...make a move for a Max Player on the trade market before next deadline if it makes sense. Right now an unhealthy BI and ZO are going to be tough to trade and get value for anyway. |

Question is, does it have to be AD? Give up less and still get a young star? KAT? Bradley Beal? |

IF we get fixated on AD, we will certainly overpay badly; I mean
like giving up on the kids.
The FO needs to take a step back and consider the options, make some calls,
talk to other teams see what's out there. Kobe, LBJ & Magic will have to check
out what FA's will actually come, if any. Hopefully Linda doesn't screw up our
off season .
Seriously though, we need to have the whole picture because everything has
to do with everything. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

I agree. We tried the all eggs in one basket thing. Other than making contracts work, we need to go in this with the “big balls” and not get fleeced. |

Pelicans would trade us AD for McGee before they trade us the #1 pick for anyone. I'd try BI, Kuz, Hart, #4, future 1st (as you mentioned) for AD. Swap Lonzo for BI or Kuz if they want him. If they want more, they can (bleep) off; we'll draft Garland and take our chances with the other free agents this off-season. |

Why would anyone want to trade for Zion with all that when he is not even proven he can play in the NBA. Talk about being high and dumb at the same time. Zion might be good, but you don't trade the farm for him. Just stupid. |

Depends what we need to give up. |
That's it. Impossible to answer this question w/o a sense of the worth of the pick right now. Pels said first thing he was gonna do was investigate that.
I'd always like in my heart to get a new rook w/ a pick that high, but if we can get a good deal for AD or something else that helps us at more than one position, my brain will override the corazon. I don't wanna get bilked by the Pelicans because they think we owe em extra than any other swingin di-k would because they think we poisoned their well. Screw that. And I hope Pels/Rambii don't let Griffin string them along for too long. And the Lakers should cut cord at the first sign that they're gonna deal with them again like a TJ cab driver. That's even IF they decide to try again. I wouldn't lose sleep if they didn't. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

With all the dysfunction and not knowing how FA will turn out I think the only option is to trade for a young star. Hear me out. If we get the “next coming” of Kyrie or whatever comparison you want, he will be on the bench. We trade for Beal or KAT, we will be that much better and look more enticing to players this year and come next year (ahem... AD). |

We don’t know if we can get a fa in this place soooo we give up our core for ad injury prone and when he goes down we back in the lottery...lol.
Best case scenario he stays healthy and golden state bounces us out of the playoffs wooiooooow. Great move...smh |

Unless they're planning to trade Lebron keeping this pick makes little sense.

If they want a future after Lebron, keeping it makes sense and you tell him to get 1 max FA to come play with him if he can. _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

Even with a second max FA + Lebron you need functional players around them. Unless a player the scouting dept is absolutely in love with is there to be had I would trade it. |

I disagree. It allows us to get a rotation player for cheap with future potential while maintaining as much cap space as possible. You trade the pick for equal value and it will cut into the available cap space. |

You know you going to have to trade talent with that pick also and if they strike out in fa then I can tell you right now two stars going to send you back to the lottery or kicked out in the playoffs. Why can’t we grow our own stars? |

If the top 2 or 3 are good enough, the supporting cast can be minimum contract level specialists. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

In this order I’d rather #4 to be used:
- to trade down
- to trade for AD
- to trade for Beal or similar star power if that’s possible
- draft at #4 _________________ Austin Reaves

Won't matter at this point. LeBronze won't get a single player to come play with him as the Lakers Organization is a massive festering boil on the ass of some amazing history. The Lakers will deal away every young player we have in hopes of finding what exactly? An old vet who is basically long past their prime. Maybe we can get Carmelo A or KD on the cheap side. I honestly don't care what we do anymore. So many bad years in a row and I (bleep) cannot even look at this team anymore. Any young talent we get, we trade it away for cap space which was not used last year and won't be used this year as well. We get rid of players who might have impacted our team for three point shooters who cannot hit a wide open three pointer. We have guys on the team who are D-League players and somehow we are suppose to think we got the inside track on an All Star?!? WE HAVE NO FUTURE WITH LEBRONZE! Zero chance to get to the playoffs and zero chance of convincing players to come join the Lakers. No HC will sacrifice their career to get gutted by the FO after one year of coaching. We still have a (bleep) staff that cannot keep injuries from plaguing this team. We are headed for a bottom that no Laker Fan has ever seen before. And if you think a new HC will fix this team up, think again. LeBronze will get "injured" again once it becomes obvious he has no players who want to play with him and could care less if he wins or loses. This year's team will make last years team look amazing in comparison. We are going to hit new lows this year and I hope that young core of players find a new home where they can thrive and win championships. _________________ This Laker Organization has not yet hit bottom. It is moving there quickly, and I suspect this year we will see zero talent coming to the Lakers and we will trade away Kuz and BI for old vets in the hopes of giving LeBronze some scapegoats. |
