Fine, mea culpa. PJ Washington and KPJ still suck, though.

Garland is not a 6'2 Klay.

I don't want to get stuck on the 2 spot or any spot. That's what I'm trying to say. If we're keeping the pick long-term, my hope is that in 3+ years, we'll be able to look back at this draft and say the FO picked the best player they could have with the pick. Easier said than done, of course.

best player right now is Hunter

If Hunter can play SG, then he’s the best fit to contribute immediately. The defensive potential with Lonzo in the backcourt would be solid. That’s assuming we trade Ingram.

Hunter is the insurance plan for Ingram.

This is such a garbage draft. I'm looking forward to never thinking about this draft class ever again in a couple months.

ETA: I think this is a sneaky good big man draft when everyone thinks it's a wing draft due to the glut of crappy, overrated 2018 HS class SFs who look the part but all actually suck to varying degrees. Bol, Goga, Jontay, and Hayes are where it's at after Zion and maybe Culver. Garland and White are fine but also overrated by positional need.

Still mostly garbage.

Where are Culver and Hunter playing? with the 2nd unit?

Hopefully starting while Kuz comes off the bench.

I guess i was thinking Lebron/Ingram at the forward spots, but then Ingram just plays the 2? Or then the possibility we actually sign a major FA? Culver or Hunter get buried behind Lebron/Butler/Ingram/Kuzma and then we're also hoping to resign Bullock or some wing who can stretch the floor. Basically, they would never player.

I'll be honest, I didn't think we'd get so lucky with the 4th pick so all I'm going by on these players are youtube clips and their college stats.

Jarrett Culver
-6'6 195lbs. shot 30% from 3pt this year and is a 68% FT shooter. Do we really need more players that can't shoot 3's and can't make FTs? (Zo and B.I.) He has good size though at 6'6.

Darius Garland
-6'3 175lbs. Might be a liability on defense and can't switch ? Shot 48% from 3 , but only using a 5 game sample size. Zo will move to the 2-spot?

DeAndre Hunter
-6'7 225lbs. Shot 44% from 3pt this year, and has a grown man body already considering he's almost 22 years old. Could be a 3&D. Looks kind of slow in highlight videos. We can probably find a veteran 3&D guy in FA for cheap too.

Cam Reddish
-6'8 218lbs. Good size. Didn't perform well behind Zion/RJ. Maybe he just needs the opportunity? Devin Booker slipped in the draft because he came off the bench + it was KAT/WCS' team.

If the Lakers sign Kawhi or Kyrie then no rookie is starting except potentially at C.

Without signing a max FA I'm thinking of a lineup more like:

Lonzo
Culver/Hart
BI
Lebron/Kuz
C TBD/Moe

Lastly, (bleep) Bullock, he sucks.

Anyone know what happen in that game against Acorn State where Garland played 28 mins and got only 3 points? I wish he didn't get hurt so we could have seen him play against some better competition instead of Winthrop and Liberty and USC

If Reddish didn't perform well with Zion/RJ, why is he gonna perform well with Lebron/Ingram or Lebron/Max FA?

Lakers may pick him for any number of reasons but I doubt it would be because Klutch is dictating their draft picks.

Good question. My answer would be, time? In college, they play 30+ games? Sometimes that's not enough time to adjust to 2 other ball dominant players.

Sources: Grizz make it known they'd pick Morant
Quote:

http://global.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26757427/grizz-make-known-pick-morant
CHICAGO -- The Memphis Grizzlies have told interested parties in Chicago, where the NBA draft combine is underway, that they intend to select Murray State guard Ja Morant with the No. 2 pick next month, provided the New Orleans Pelicans take Duke's Zion Williamson first overall, sources told ESPN.

Should the Grizzlies proceed with drafting Morant as expected, the road will be cleared for Duke's RJ Barrett -- the presumptive No. 1 pick in the draft entering the season -- to land in New York with the Knicks, who pick third. Sources said that Barrett would be ecstatic to end up in New York but that the franchise will do its due diligence in exploring trade options, as well as work out other players projected to be selected in the top 10.

In this case, NY will be pressured to pick Barrett, and it leaves us ..... Culver?

Mike is really high on Culver, and he is #3 on tankathon's big board.

Tacko Fall has been invited to the combine. 7'5" without shoes, 7'7" with shoes, 289 lbs, 8'2" wingspan, 10'2" standing reach.

I hope he gets drafted by a team so I can see him and Bobi go up against each other.

Tacko Fall Tuesdays is bound to become a thing too.

I'd like the Culver backers to say things to make me feel better about his poor 3-point shooting and FT shooting and his less-than-ideal shooting form. I love the defense but I would be inclined to go in a different direction at #4.

Just started reviewing tape on these guys...

Really liking Hunter so far. Guy seems to have the ability to make an imprint all over the game.

Type of player we need off the bench next year. Maybe Vogel can mold him into Paul George 2.0

I’d say an nba comp for him is like 2010 version of MWP. .. this player plays mostly PF today too

Hunter shot a great % from 3 but low volume and his shot is slow .. it’s a stretch 4s shot. He can def defend SFs though don’t get me wrong . His team D isn’t above average. His handle, athleticism, finishing, all extremely avg at best

I know the general rule for the draft is to take the best player. In our case this year it is little bit different. If we are going to take someone and not to trade pick we should take the best possible shooter out there. In this moment in time we need great shooters to surround LBJ, Ball and maybe some FA this summer.

If the Knicks draft him it means the Lakers get Barrett so....
