Yes, but I’m not sure who he is a puppet for. I have my guess but it is pretty far out there. Let’s just say that the student might now be the teacher. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Puppetry confirmed.
Sort of. Ireland said it was reported when Lue rejected the offer, Rob had to take it to management who said no dice.
So if true, he’s an errand boy, of sorts. |

probably waiting to get fired, then he can sue them. he's a lawyer, i'm sure there were stipulations in his contract for giving up his agency to head the Lakers.
talking out my read end, but i'm betting that's why he's still there. heck, maybe he blew the Lue negotiations to press the issue?

Good stuff by Richard Jefferson |
So let me get this straight.
Richard has connections with:
1. LeKlutch who wants to run everything
2. Luke, who was let go. Who was bad at implementing an offensive scheme and did not want to improve his staff
3. Lue, who the Lakers did not offer a big contract to because they werent really high on him
Gee, I guess I should trust you Richard. No bias at all.
So you want the Rambii to make all the decisions?
No thank you. |

Most likely someone irrelevant who is trying to get 5 mins of fame on Twitter by adding 1 + 1 to get 11. |

So Magic revealed that Rob was the one saying Magic wasn't in the office. At least that's verified now from the horse's mouth.
So this is where my mind is headed. Magic told Jeannie that he was not going to let go of his other businesses. So he would not be invested in solely doing Lakers business, meaning he would not be in all the time. And Jeannie was OK with this. She told him that he would be working with Rob. Magic also said he told Rob that Magic would only be here for 3 years. And pretty much would help Rob get Magic's job. And I believe Jeannie knew this.
What does this mean? I think Jeannie (and the ones making decisions either it be Rambii, Tim Harries, etc) knew they wanted Rob to be the guy. But they needed to make a splash with Jim being fired and the Lakers going through years of playoffs drought to show that the Lakers are back. So they get Magic to be a face for a couple of years, until Rob settles in.
TLDR;
1. Magic was not going to be putting in POBO type hours.
2. Magic was not going to be POBO for longer than a few years.
3. Rob was probably the FO's choice from the beginning. |

Rob was not backstabbing Magic.
He was... telling the truth about him. |

That maybe true...I'm willing to bet Rob will take the high road and not say anything negative about Magic if asked today during the presser. |

I mean, you get a Kobe feel from him.
Which is great. You don't have to listen to what he says, as long as he's putting in the work... that's what matters most. |

Precisely. Just put a team together that can play ball the right way, make it sustainable, and put as many banners up in the rafters as you can. He could be in front of the media tap dancing naked to Drake’s “gods plan” for all I care.. just get the job done. _________________ DEAR BASKETBALL |

Yep.
This summer to the trade deadline is going to be vital for him.
Either it be the draft, trades or FA.
He just might be the future of the Lakers franchise. |

Well, unfortunately for us we get to waste another season to figure that out. Instead of, you know, hiring people that have proven track records. |

I actually kinda trust Pelinka more than Magic at least
I'm pretty sure Magic was the crazy one that insisted on signing Rondo, Lance and Beasley. While Pelinka probably just agreed like a puppet. |

Its time to go to work and put this crap behind them. Hopefully Magic will shut the heck up and let them do their jobs without him twitter snipping. |
