Flew there once, it was "meh"

For me, a lot of the fun of a Vegas trip is the drive.

eh I always drive in but never found it fun. Driving through desert landscape gets boring after the first 10 minutes and then its hell getting caught in traffic heading back home.
But I still rather drive in so I have my car there and dont have to squeeze my stuff into a carry-on. However now that nearly all resorts on the strip are now charging for parking it makes it much less convenient.

Planet Hollywood, Venetian, and Wynn are all free

Free parking can also be had if you open the M-Life and Total Rewards credit cards, which makes all the mid strip hotels free

I live in socal i drive....

BUT

If i go, i am staying 3 nights instead of 2... i feel 2 nights is a waste of my time driving there and back, that one extra night makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE, atleast for me.

When I lived in Central CA I would always drive out with my friends; good times were had in the car. I drove out alone once for New Years cause I was meeting all my crew there. This was back in the days of mostly free parking on the strip. Driving does have its advantages though; i.e buying cheap liquor off strip and driving to surrounding attractions. I live in AZ now for work so when I went to Vegas last year I flew in and we had rented a SUV for day trips which worked out pretty well.

Vegas is a safe spot to go. Wife know what it is, she know it's just an expensive place to party. DR or Cabos get more side eyes

I'm at the stage of life where Vegas is fun for about 2 hours of Black Jack when passing through town on the way to skiing. Outside of that, I just don't get it anymore. Too many people getting hammered and spending too much money in an effort to prove to themselves they are as cool as they think they are.
