Might as well have a Jimmy thread here too.

News reporters are always like "____ wants to come to LA" and yet no one comes. Its pretty much futile to listen to rumors.

Does this team win the title next year, assuming no KD in Golden State?

C - B Lopez (Room Exception), T Gibson (vet min), Muscala
F - Lebron, Kuzma, Wagner
F - Ingram, Hunter
G - Butler, Hart, Bonga
G - Ball, Austin Rivers (vet min), Caruso

Secondary options to
Lopez: D Dedmon (longshot), Kevon Looney, A Baynes, Ed Davis, Mirotic
Gibson: McGee (might want more), Nerlens Noel, Noah Vonleh, Christian Wood (sleeper)
Rivers: Corey Joseph (long shot), S Napier, J Bayless

Butler did this too a few days ago: https://clutchpoints.com/lakers-news-jimmy-butler-teases-la-fans-purple-and-gold-sneakers/

He had an IG post thanking Philly which is causing Sixers fans to panic, then another post later wearing purple and gold Nike's which is causing Lakers fans to go hmm...

Count me in on the Butler to Lakers train, we need another tough minded player besides LeBron and Butler will help us in close games.

Possibly. I don’t think Lopez and Gibson will sign here for cheap though.

I would too. He was the most impactful player for Philly in the playoffs. Beggars can’t be choosers

How is his fit?

I know he can defend, but he's not exactly a shooter.

That's solid, if you can get Lopez on the Room MLE. He may have earned more with his play this season and we may have already burned that bridge. I think that team is a top contender, maybe not enough to unseat GSW.

I still take a stab at AD while trying to hold onto Zo/Kuz (i.e., 4/Ingram/Hart/etc.), because I think Zo/Butler/Bron/Brow/Kuzma is a championship-caliber core. If NO wants nothing less than the godfather offer, I'd prefer your lineup to Butler/LBJ/Davis + filler.

Me too and if this is true I’ll pass on the AD trade

We would really have to make defense our bread and butter. Lonzo would be indispensable if we got Jimmy imo. I'm fine with that.

I'm fine with Jimmy if we can keep our YUTES and have a DEEP roster.

But they probably swing for AD if they get Jimmy. I can understand and be down for that too.

A team with Zo, Jimmy Buckets and AD would be pretty damn solid defensively.

I would really hate to swing for AD. I've got zero confidence in roster construction if AD is acquired.

I totally believe just getting Jimmy Butler + healthy team + smart MLE utilization is a championship team contender.

I agree with your take. The most I would do for AD is 4th pick, any one of Zo/Ingram/Kuz and additional considerations (Hart, Wagner, etc). Otherwise stand pat. If Lebron doesn't like it or buy in, we can find him a new home.

Yeah, that's understandable and why my #1 choice would be depth.

But a LBJ/AD/Jimmy team is pretty fearsome too. Either way, way better than what we had this year.

On paper, it looks fearsome.

But fill in the rest of the roster, reasonably.

No doubt. Would be tough but not impossible.

If we are going to waste those assets I would prefer that we try to do so on Beal.
