Yes, his putrid shooting had nothing to do with it.

You have no balance. Let me teach the way of Dark Side. You can start off as an entry level Storm Trooper.

Had an off game. I believe he had a 65 TS% before last night.

They were fouling the bleep out of him and he couldn't buy a call while shooting.

The point being made is that he's a bastardized version of Mamba just as others are. Just because he's cool as hell and stays out the way it doesn't mean his game is flawless. He is the closest to Mamba I've seen when it comes to getting to his spot and being patient enough to get the shot he wants. But his game isn't very diverse and all he's doing right now is waiting for his opportunity to be clutch. This is no different than Westbrook playing without a governor or Marshon Brooks kicking his legs out.

Playing the role of Mamba requires more than just scoring. This is where Kawhi needs another jump because. He's stellar right now... But I see the eyeliner starting to run a tad.

KL is unbelievable. Not even a top notch athlete but is able to get wherever he wants, any shot he wants, and to shut down players. Amazing.

And Mamba isn’t MJ. Ur bringing up comparisons to Kobe when no one else is. Lakers should be thrilled to get Kawhi.

Kawhi will likely be a 60-65 games per season player, optimistically.

As we're seeing now with the Dubs, that's not necessarily the worst thing as far as planning to maximize health through the playoffs.

IF those 60-65 games are the same ones LBJ & AD play, we're good. However, the lack of depth we deal to get AD will sting in a PO run....

Right now the FO is very quiet which is great, so I guess we'll know what the hell will happen soon after they actually know; at month end there abouts.

I agree, just as I agreed with Philly sitting rookies for their first season. It does put a lot of pressure on FOs when constructing rosters.

Kawhi's bucket getting in the 4th quarter last night was nothing short of MJ/Kobe levels of clutchness. Anybody saying Kawhi isn't a bonafide superstar alpha needs their noggins checked.

Apropos to Darth Los Angeles, it was reminiscent of the opening scene in the original Star Wars. With Vader just mowing and cutting everyone down, but in the end, he failed his mission.

It is painful watching him move sometimes. He's top 3 right now, but I don't think he's going to age well in the league.

I think he'll be just fine once this thigh/quad injury has healed and once he's on a deeper team who can helps share the burden around better than Toronto. Like this one:

Lonzo / Garland (#4) / Caruso
Kawhi / Bullock (Min) / Hart
LeBron / Ingram / Bonga
Kuzma / Muscala (Min)
McGee (MLE) / Noel (Min) / Wagner

That's why I'm saying he needs to expand his game as a playmaker. It's a treat to watch him pull off some of Kobe's pet moves. But truthfully, it's not part of his organic game yet. He's simply emulating the Mamba. Similar to when Frobe pulled out the fadeaway. It didn't become organic until he was shooting off the wrong leg, or over the backboard, or stepping through, or reversing his pivot.

I'm simply saying that Kawhi is not as multi layered as he appears and his body is already falling apart. Not hating. But this isn't going to last.

Spurs misdiagnosed Kawhi's injury.

Gasol was strutted out there and had a stress fracture. They missed his too.
