Welp I guess they are offering all 3 of the goods. A bit sad.
But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

The Lakers' ability to seal a deal for Anthony Davis likely hinges on what the No. 4 pick can fetch. If the No. 4 pick can land a player to excite New Orleans, on top of Ingram and Ball, then the teams are headed for an agreement in principle before draft night next Thursday

not happy

Tried to hope for the best but i knew Pelinka would blow this.

Yeah it is annoying, but as long as we win, then all others can (bleep) off.

So then apparently NOP doesn't care about extension timing. They're trading 4 years of a rookie contract for "excitement".

If BI or Lonzo are devastated and affected by being mentioned in a trade for a top 5-10 player, I'd be seriously concerned about their mental make-up.

Is the worst case scenario always the most probable one

Come on, man... I'm reading the tweet in front of my eyes.

And that's not even accounting for potential future picks or filler.

You guys have said I was too negative... yet this is the leaking news.

Why would Kuzma be untouchable? Why does our FO think he's the one we have to keep? Ugh.

Because the other two players and the pick being withheld are 100% deal breakers I'm guessing.

Griffin has ZERO other moves. If we had a GM with a brain, he would see that. 2 of Lonzo/Ingram/#4 is better than any serious offer he's going to get. And we're giving up all three because we don't know how to not negotiate against ourselves.

Seriously, you might as well have Magic doing this.

u have no clue what other teams are offering and wont ever know. so just relax

To have more cap space this summer probably

We may be building Kuz up, too, to justify trading him instead of another asset (probably Lonzo or BI, but maybe the 4th pick)

Because you're not the one in charge of doing the protecting.

But Kuz and Hart in the same tier, though? Yikes.

it amazes me that people still think reddick has something to offer on a team that hopes to contend. dude literally averages 10.9 points per game in the playoffs.

We just watched him average 13.4 PPG in the playoffs slashing 43.5%/41.4%/85% and was +39 combined across all games. Redick's shooting is still incredibly valuable and has the added benefit of spacing the floor for driving lanes.

on a team with Embiid, Simmons, Butler and Tobias.

And when it was just Embiid and Simmons, and Embiid was out with injury, do you think Redick's shooting numbers improved, declined, or stayed the same? I haven't looked at the stats, I'm genuinely asking how you think he may have fared.

In a situation where we'd sign him without a second max level player, LeBron would be in that Simmons distributor role but with a much better outside shot (obviously).

Edit: Here are the 2017-18 game logs before Butler/Harris and with lots of Embiid missing action.

Redick: https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/redicjj01/gamelog/2018
Embiid: https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/e/embiijo01/gamelog/2018

I glanced at the first dozen or so games Embiid was out and looked at Redick's performance on those nights. Surprisingly, he performed really well. Check out that 3/30 - 4/10 stretch where Embiid missed all the games at the end of last season. Redick was scorching hot -- slashed 53.3%/41.1%/86.4% with 22.4 PPG. Not bad.

I'm on your side dude.

What I meant was JJ still has great value even on a team with a big 4.

One player that the Lakers’ trade discussions with the Pelicans for Anthony Davis could hinge on? Kyle Kuzma. The Lakers do not want to trade him, but the Pelicans want him as part of a package, sources tell me and @BA_Turner.

So Lakers bending over like they did in February? Why should the offer be anywhere near that now?

The February offer was with Zubac Hart and Kuz plus picks and taking back a bad k.

Hopefully that's true.
N.O. says they really want Kuz, then we say, OK. But we take back BI or Zo.

Me either but that squad should contend for a title. LA should give up no more than that. Warriors are weaker now. I will badly miss Lonzo and it hurts because he will help a team win

Which won't be needed when we have Lebron and AD and possibly another star on this team.

Guys that can defend and move the ball, both of which he is the worst at between he, Ingram and Lonzo.

Stupid FO.

Kuz is the most consistent player next to Lebron... and with AD... makes more sense.

Disagree. All he does is score and he is super sporadic with that. Consistency is in defending and decision-making and he's probably the worst of he, Ingram, and Ball.

Our four best assets are: Lonzo, Ingram, #4, Kuzma. He easily has the lowest potential of the four. When his cheap contract is up, he will be just another overpaid guy. We should be moving him while we can.

Kuz is the most expendable. WTH.

Think numbers, not talent

I’d rather LA keep Zo

The numbers can be worked out a multitude of ways. From the reports from Tania and Stein it sounds like LA value Kuz more than Zo and BI, not the $

People are so short sighted. Kuz is a sophomore averaging 18 a game. Something Zo and BI didnt do. He's the one that was invited to the USA Basketball team. Not Zo or BI. On top of that he's by far the cheapest of them which allows us to keep him and be players for a max FA this year.

The Lakers are smartly valuing him over both Zo and BI. He's the beat current player of the 3, costs the least, plays off ball the best and fits along side our other pieces.

From the first game Pau played it was obvious he made the Lakers a Championship team. Literally the first game.

I remember that game perfectly (i´m spanish Lakers fan since the Showtime era so how could i forget having one of us playing for the Lakers), and i remember Kobe right after the game saying something like "it is so easy to play with him, it makes my life so easier" and he just couldn´t stop smiling.

Would we still have been a championship if it was Pau and Kobe but Odom/Bynum/ariza were shipped out?
