Get the (bleep) outta here!! Like Ingram? Hell nah I don’t think he plays like either guy. |
I think he just means that Siakam generates most of his opportunities on his own. Where as Kuz may be more reliant on someone finding him on the move. |
Watch them play. Siakam has many similarities with BI. I think if BI focused on being the Siakam for us we would become a much better team. BI has potential still to be an even better Siakam if he accepts that role. |
This is the thing that I find peculiar when some make statements about Ingram.
Do you really think he's out there just winging it, and doing whatever he feels like doing?
He fills whatever role he's given. When he was told to play point, he played point and focused on facilitating. When he was told to play off guard, he played off guard. He will do what he's told to do. So if there's an issue with what he does on the court it needs to be addressed to the coaching staff. He will do what he's instructed to do. |
He admitted multiple times during the season to forcing things and playing outside of himself. Only for the last 10 games of his season did he start to play a more controlled game. A lot of that blame goes to Luke and his staff. They didn't put him in the best spots to excel. I am hoping Vogel will establish a better role for BI that will maximize his talents and allow him to grow as a player. |
I agree with that.. you give him a clearly defined role and he will play within the confines of that role.
I don't agree with the take that he was just playing outside of whatever system Luke implemented, to do his own thing. I can say this while acknowledging that he did force shots on occasion.
He's a young player, he will do what he's told. |
He was definitely playing selfishly to start the season forcing things. He even admitted to it. From his own mouth:
Quote: | “(Facilitating for teammates is) kind of something that I was supposed to be doing anyway. I was too into myself, trying to score the basketball a little bit too much, and (now) I just try to play my game and get everybody involved, because with a team effort and everybody comfortable on a basketball floor you see guys like KCP and Josh Hart getting their room and knocking down 3-pointers.
“It was important for me to get guys involved so they can be comfortable in the fourth quarter when it comes down to the wire.” |

I'm well aware of his quote.. which is why I said he forced shots on occasion.
My point is if a player is directed by the coaching staff to fill a specific role, and the parameters for what he is to do and not do are clearly defined he will play within the structure of whatever is schemed.
He will do what he's told to do. I don't know of too many players that get to play however they choose to play. |

Don't be a liar.. I don't go on Ingram rants.. Don't make (bleep) up. I didn't bring up Ingram in this thread. Nor am I in the habit of bringing up Ingram in other threads.
Just relax, everyone on this site is a Lakers fan. Stop trying to stir up (bleep) all the time. |

Interesting the valuable piece out there in 5h3 AD trade speculation his Kuzma; Pels want him included, Lakers want to keep him. I hope we do manage to keep a Kuzma, but if we don’t, I want the #4 pick not included in the deal. |

"The general perception on Kuz’s defense seems to be lagging reality by a year.
We saw jumps in his @The_BBall_Index defensive grades, along w/his impact via D-PIPM (-1.2 to -0.3) and DRPM (-1.5 to -0.77).
He still has a lot of room to grow, but he’s not a turnstile anymore." -cranjis
The 'chucker' has about league average efg% at 0.515. About the same as the 'future' Brandon Ingram at 0.518. BI the elite playmaker is at 3.0 apg(after dribbling the clock out of course). A whopping 0.5 apg higher than selfish ole Kuz at 2.5 apg.
Look I like BI as much as anyone but the hate here around Kuz is absurd |

Oh oh oh and...
Kuz ORPM 0.77, DRPm -0.77, RPM = 0.00
BI ORPM -1.77, DRPM -0.54, RPM = -1.77
Kuz net on/off = +1.7
BI net on/off = -0.1
Which mean's were better if Kuz is on the floor than without and about a tinnie bit worse with BI on the floor.
And how about durability? BI played 79, 59 and 52 games the in his first 3 seasons to Kuz's 77 and 70.
So... |

If you read everything in that article, it suggests Luke did NOT direct Ingram to do that.
Here's another article about Ingram admitting the team played more unselfishly without him:

Quote: | “How good guys were moving without the basketball,” Ingram said of what he noticed about the team while he was out. “I think most of the time we’ve been getting the best shot for the team.
“I think we did really, really good beyond the 3-point line, so we’re shooting with more confidence. Of course on the defensive side, we’re getting better and better each game.” |

I don't feel like going back and forth on this matter again.. I've already done it with other posters.
Players don't get to play however they want with no repercussions. If you want to believe he completely ignored plays and directives from the coaching staff that's fine. |

I don't really have a fact based argument for you.. neither did you present one.
You guys throw out numbers, then you extrapolate a narrative from it. You're confusing your interpretation of the data with fact. |
