Zo can be a DPOY in a couple of seasons, his defense is that good. I agree about Kuz, he’s my least favorite to keep out of the young 3. |

it's reportedly
Either Brown or Tatum and some picks
however, their (celts) picks are:
2019: #14 (via Sacramento Kings), #20, #22
2020: Memphis Grizzlies (Top-6 protected), their own pick
reports are that the Pels are trying to shop our #4 pick because they don't like who's available.
but, the above Celts picks are much much worse. _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

People opposed to the trade have said that they don't mind the trade, they just don't wanna trade away everyone. Now that word is out that we might be able to keep a few players then those people have pivoted to having a problem with which players we're keeping.
Some here just really don't want this trade and they're losing their minds about it. |
Spot on. |
Not one bit, what's with you guys and making (bleep) up.
We're upset because Ingram and Lonzo> Kuzma.
In terms of both being a player and being a prospect. Kuzma isn't as good as the other two, we want the better players. Y'all live in fantasy land |
So does the trading partner who's offering you a MUCH better player. I like both BI and Zo and would hate to trade them, but it's the price of doing business. |
The Pelicans really aren't offering anything. They're trying to salvage value on an asset they would otherwise lose for nothing. The Lakers are the ones doing them a favor, not the other way around. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

That is roughly $3.5 million over a $109 million salary cap. |
Obviously we will be over the cap once the dust settle's, but isn't that the point of waiting to execute the trade until we actually sign a 30% guy? If we are just at/under the cap after signing a max, are we still allowed to send out the 21m to acquire AD putting us over the cap?
Edit: Sorry, just saw your explanation above that clears it up. |
I think you can sign your own free agents and go over the cap.....cant you
so kcp, rondo, lance and macgee can be resigned at a descent rate |

Just a volume scorer? Jordan Clarkson?
He's got more 30 point games in his rookie season than Clarkson his whole career. I dont think people are actually processing the fact that Kuzma is one of the best player under 25 in the league?
Donovan Mitchell shoots 43% is he a volume scorer? What about Kemba Walker who shoots 42%?
Kuzma is shooting 46% as a sophomore on 6 threes a game. He's only getting better. He's a perfect 3rd/4th scorer for the team. |

My guess is it will be KCP for ~15m..... |
If no 2nd max ...
- Ariza
- Morris Bros
- Rondo
- McGee
- Beverly
- Aminu
- collison
- Lamb
- Green |
Are you Magic? This would be the worst possible use of $27m. |
You just said bring back KCP for 15m!?! All the players on the above list are better than KCP (minus the Morris Bros.) whatcha smokin’ man? |
I don't want KCP for $15m, but Klutch runs the Lakers and we overpaid for him last year.
I wouldn't be shocked if the FO went that route again. Even if they sign him for $8m, it is probably overpaying him. |

+1.
I used to think you were just cynical but, man, you are on point about most of the recent poor management decisions....
If it really is 3-4 cost controlled players plus first round picks for a player who is telling you he is opting out the next year no matter what that is absolutely insane - REGARDLESS of how good ANY of the players are in the trade. |

AD needs someone who can get him easy shots. That's Lonzo.
AD doesn't need to have to work too hard on the defensive end...Lonzo helps with that.
Pretty clear who we need to keep. Not gonna happen because other teams know that too. _________________ Build around team players, not ISO players. |

At this point, I just wonder who we are bidding against. We can't get him for a pittance, sure, but our position seems to be getting stronger by the second. |
We are bidding against ourselves, but if we really want to maximize FA, we also need to offer $21.5m in contracts, which requires us to overpay in a way. |

what are you basing BI is gone, but there is hope to keep Lonzo? I think Lonzo's contract being higher and under team control longer makes him the most likely moved. BI is probably a close 2nd because of his contract amount. |

Apparently Lakers prefer Luzma the most because he is cost controlled and at a small salary for two more years to boot. For the same reason, the Pelicand may also value Kuzma regardless of any opinion that BI is the superior talent. From a cap standpoint, because his deal is up this year, BI is the worst asset. That may make him the least tradable too. I'm holding out hope that is the case. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Just to expand on it a bit more.
They need to be able to function as a team with cap space so they can sign the 30% max FA. After that is accomplished, then they need to use the trade rules of a team above the salary cap that allows the 125% + $100,000 formula for incoming salary.
Working backwards from the 2019-20 Davis salary to calculate the needed outgoing salary.
$27,093,019 (Davis) - $100,000 = $26,993,019
$26,993,019 / 1.25 = $21,594,415.20 (Needed Outgoing Salary)
The roughly $5.5 million difference between $27,093,019 (Davis) and $21,594,415.20 (Needed Outgoing Salary) would chew into the cap space needed for a 30% max FA if the trade was done first.
So sign the 30% max FA and then do the Davis trade. |
