in a way GSW is not that much worse off if Klay is able to make a full recovery. They needed to do a quick retool anyway with Durant leaving in the offseason and no cap space to replace his value.
This gives them an excuse to tank HARD this coming season and replenish talent so they are ready to roll again when Klay comes back in the 2020 season.

might be a smart strategy ya. I doubt they'll do it moving to a new building though. Steph could use a rest year though.. like under 60 games

Season ticket holders for Chase Center are just gonna have to write off next year. If they are lucky they will luck into a situation where they can pick up a franchise player for a bargain....like the Spurs with Tim Duncan decades ago..

Warriors medical staff cleared Durant - torn achilles (game 5)
Warriors medical staff cleared Thompson - torn acl (game 6)

Play through injury right before free agency and a max contract. Warriors medical staff might have cost Durant and Thompson over half a billion in potential earnings.

Honestly Klay has been my favorite Warrior. Guy who gave up the most. Ok, it's b/c he's Mychal's son.

I don't know how hard you can tank when you have Curry, Green and Iggy on the roster. Even without Klay and Durant, they are probably a playoff team. So I am not sure how they do a "quick retool."

The Warriors big issue is how big a contract to offer Klay. They'll have to take a gamble because if they don't some other team will.

Or it's possible that Durant and Thompson just had unlucky injuries, and the medical staff did nothing wrong. No one of really knowing.

But it’s more fun and easier to play the blame game. 😹

He's my favorite Warrior as well for the same reasons. Was hoping he'd be a Bruin back in the day, but Howland ignored Mychal's pleas to have him at UCLA.

Klay did that all to himself

I saw it .. like you want the ball to go in so bad you stare at the hoop as you forget you need to protect your body as it is falling..

Felt bad for him..

Every ring in NBA history has a * or a + or a # in the eyes of someone.

A ring is a ring is a ring.

The play you're thinking of isn't the one that gave him the acl injury. He hurt it when he was fouled by Danny Green on a dunk attempt and landed really awkwardly.

I see people talking like crazy about this but suddenly nobody mentions Kawhi anymore.. The lone superstar on Toronto was clearly nowhere close to healthy the entire series, especially the last few games.

This is the kind of thing that happens when you play extra long seasons every year while your roster is only getting older. It's too bad it had to happen but like others are saying it's a two way street. The Warriors have had A LOT of luck in the teams they faced during there runs as well.. Durability and health is as important as anything else in the NBA. There's literally 100's of cases different teams can make over the years regarding health "what if's" but at the end of the day it means absolutely nothing as it is now the past and can't be changed no matter how many excuses people bring up.

blah blah im tired of all these narratives man.

im so glad the raptors won. all the warriors fans can suck it. all the curry fans can go cry. all the people who always dismiss the malone injury, they can suck it. all the people who compared the warriors the the lakers dynasties can suck it. all the nonsense about how curry is so much better than lillard "hes a video game"...well now you see what its like to be a short 3pt specialist with no help (aka lillard). gotta be a little taller buddy. sorry, that's just physics. curry has nothing on kobe or mj or those assasins that are a little taller and do a LOT more. he had it SO EASY. not hating on curry, just his ANNOYING FANS. they can all go suck it. yes, im the worst. but this is what a true laker fan feels right now. anyone who gets on my case about being rude or not pc, whatever. you dont know how to be a laker fan then.

warriors...who cares. klay? because hes the son of a laker? the laker alumni are ALL OVER THE NBA. thats what happens when you are the best and win a lot. i feel terrible for the players and their injuries. but again...i remember...no sympathy for malone. kobe didnt do enough in 2004 right? go suck it. refs even tried to give all they could to curry, as if the warriors need help ( i guess they do). NOBODY had to endure the kind of awful officiating kobe had to run through. curry isnt even touched. not so easy to hit those threes with all your olympian boys around you injured, eh?

and guess what warriors. yes it was YOU who injured the achilles. you guys were getting away with so much physical contact that game too. you guys would have had so many more injuries if the refs let what YOU did to kobe throughout your little run there. so now you know how it feels, sort of. im talking to the fans, not the players.

and what else?? oh yea VETO!! cavs and warriors directly benefitted from the HAND OF GOD destroying a 30year momentum franchise. so GO SUCK IT. we'd still be in the CP3 era RIGHT NOW with kobe probably on his 8th ring or more, and no achilles injury and all these stars would not have passed us up, and we wouldn't have this garbage Lonzo missing fts and lebron missing all the things he misses, etc.

Kawhi also made a FOOL out of the SPurs. so the SPurs can go suck it too!! yes, im the worst. NO GOODWILL HERE. laker fan man, this is how it is.

Possibly the most unpleasant Finals series I've watched, even though I wanted Toronto to win. Nobody wants to see the top players in the league suffer serious and career-altering injuries.

They're medical staff, not a pit crew. It's not like they install Achilles tendons ACLs in all the players before each game, but sometimes do it wrong.

Injuries are random, and often the result of years of wear and tear causing a sudden trauma. These were well-conditioned athletes who knew what they were capable of and assumed the risk, as they do every time they play.
