He didn't get the MVP award but without him they don't win the Larry O'Brien.

Believe it or not, gonna go out on a limb and say that the media is done trashing the Warriors now.

Something very stupid about the media, is they never appreciate greatness till something terrible like this happens. They want to see the "great team humbled" and will spend forever hating upon them when they seem unbeatable, but the moment they look 'human' they start trying to build them up again.

Next season may be a wash for them, but if they re-sign both Klay and KD, there's no reason they won't be in the Finals discussion for 4 of the next 5 seasons. But I get the feeling the media will be done trashing them for it.

Sucks that's how it works and they refused to truly appreciate them for the last 4 years cause they ended LeBron's dynasty potential in the era they deemed that only he should have overwhelming odds in his favor, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I agree that it's way too early to talk about the end of a dynasty. They'll go on a one year hiatus, and pick right back up where they left off. Even if they don't win anymore chips they'll remain in contention as long as they have Steph and Klay on the same team.

I don't agree with the media take.. they seem to fawn over the Warriors. The only guy that really catches heat from the media on that squad is KD.

How good is Iguodala going to be in 2 years though?

Yeah. Warriors will come WAY down to earth now.

Their supporting cast too is getting very old. Iggy will have to play much more now too.

Man, that sucks

Terrible. As soon as I saw the replay I knew it was a torn ACL. Seen too many football players tear their ACL when their knee twist like that. The west is wide open next season.

I've spent some time discussing ACL injuries in football players. You know what the real horrible thing is? When they return they're fine with straight line speed but they're cutting and jinking ability will be nowhere nea-

… oh wait Klay's just a catch and shoot player. Nevermind, he'll be back just as strong

Football is not basketball.
Bet you didn't know Lowry tore his ACL in College.
So did Baron Davis, and Jamal Crawford some years ago- but those two guys never seemed like twitchy players to me but Lowry?
Seemed fine and twitchy last night to me.

Are you sure the Warriors are still better than the Clippers? The Clippers beat them twice when they still had KD and Klay.

I don't think he's overrated as far as his ability and impact, but some guys are just not great big game players. KD is KD, Klay has the "Game 6 Klay" moniker for a reason, and you know Dray and Iggy are going to bring it when you need them to...Steph's just not that same level of dependable, and his history in big games speaks for itself. He's had his moments in the playoffs, no doubt, but I don't think his game and body is built for the biggest stage at the end of season full of wear and tear, and when teams are allowed to get more physical with him

Overrated is not the word that comes to mind.

No, I wouldn't say he's mentally soft, either. Part of it is the spectacular aspect to his game is built on making these seemingly impossible shots for normal human beings, and he does it so much during the regular season that it's naturally a letdown when he can't against playoff caliber defense (and that also speaks to his poor decision-making when he takes those "bad" shots in key moments).

I think he can be physically manhandled. Delladova did that. Lowry and Vanfleet wore him down too. That’s part of what comes with being 6’2 and wispy thin. He’s probably the best shooter all time and a surefire all time great.

The guy averaged 30.5/5.2/6.0 in just under 42 minutes a game. I'd hardly call that manhandled. Yeah, he didn't replicate his 3-PT shooting, credit the Raptors D and 2/3 of his teammates being out multiple games.

Not really crazy. More like completely arbitrary. I'm sure his numbers in the last 5 minutes of games within 5 or less (or whatever the "clutch" definition is these days) are brilliant. So they have to improvise a bit.

No, he's being manhandled. Didn't say he was being rendered feckless.

Look at the box and 1, the multiple guys he has to get past (remember that reckless behind the back move trying to split Danny Green and KL?). Raptors correctly put everything on him thinking they could wear him down and it did. When you have Lowry, Van Fleet, Green, and an endless horde of guys on Steph he is getting worn down. As a shooter you lose your legs.

I love D-Fish but I don't really see the comparison, the NBA today is vastly different than the NBA when Fisher played.

Different player, same mindset.

Fisher isn't taking people off the dribble like VanFleet. But both came up in the clutch time and time again. Happy for VF.

He didnt dispute it because nobody is worried about the Clippers .. If we aren't better then the Clippers (unless they get Kawhi obviously) then we have no chance just like them to win a championship next season anyways.. Should kind of go without saying.. Without a massive signing there is going to be nobody picking the Clippers to win it all next season.. We are already clearly a better team currently constructed if healthy.

Great comparison, I made the same point during the game to my friend who i was watching the game with.

He reminds me a lot of DFish with his scrapiness and ability to hit big 3's in the pressure moments.

How very Trumpian. Absolutely, the world is full of self centered asses that can cocoon themselves in their own filth. Who is anyone to judge? Screw societal norms and decency. I’m hijacking here, so I’ll take the rest to private message should you require further discussion.
