I would think since Vogel agreed to take on Kidd, he would get to make some of his own choices.

Six weeks after Kings hired Luke Walton, his staff has begun to take shape. Source tells @TheAthleticNBA Walton has added Bob Beyer (formerly OKC), Jesse Mermuys (Lakers), & Canadian coach Roy Rana as assts. Bobby Jackson to be Asst./player development. Likely adding 2-3 more.

Surprised he isn't bringing BShaw with him. I know he was on the Pacers during the Vogel era, but didn't know we were retaining him.

I don’t think we are keeping Shaw. He’s up (bleep) creek atm.

I think he might be kept. He was on Vogel's staff in Indy I believe.

And he was on Luke’s staff in here. Doesn’t mean he sticks. The front office wasn’t a fan of likes staff,.. to me that includes Shaw. I get the feeling the front office is making more of the choices regarding Franks staff.

Kurt and BShaw were assistants together I thought and remember positive stories from Kurt around BShaw. Or so I thought.

The Sacramento Kings are hiring former Suns coach Igor Kokoskov as an assistant coach, league source tells ESPN.

Very very good move. Why couldn't he do something like this last year....

Maybe the FO learned from the mistakes of our incompetent FO when it comes to hiring rookie/inexperienced coaches

Wasn't Walton against having the fo bring in assistances?

I don't know if the Kings insisted or Luke finally admitted he needs more help but either way it's a good move.

It's also a good move if Luke's off-court issue gets to be too much of a distraction.

He probably learned from the disaster he had with the Lakers.

I'd guess that the Sacramento front office isn't giving Walton a choice.

It might be Igor is taking the job in case Walton needs to resign over the sexual assault thing.

Sure bro, Kings with garbage coach will make playoffs

But

Lakers with best player in game, 4/5 Young kids and a Max will struggle to make playoffs

Like isn’t a garbage coach. He just isn’t an elite one either. But at this point he’s already beginning to tighten up things he sucked at. Like having a good coaching staff. They’ll have a damn good offense and Luke/Mermuys are both terrific defensive coaches.

Luke will do an OK job for the Kings as long as they don't add any vets to that team. Luke might mismanage the young guys playing. I hope a Rondo or Stephenson is added to the Kings. Luke would probably start ROndo over D'Aaron fox.

And we beat them in games lost to injury by a country mile...so there's that...

So, now we going to use injuries as an excuse to a far inferior team???

Deng......
