Kl is 2 inches taller than THT and has 2 more.inches in wing span .
One.could argue if THT grows an inch he would probably grow another inch in wingspan. So if he grows two inches then he is the same as KL
So same ratio in regards to their bodies not eachother. . |

I dont think that's how ratios work. But it's all good.
I'm glad we have someone to keep an eye on during SL |

Does THT play in summer league? I'm guessing he won't be signed until after the AD trade and FA spending goes through, no? That means he misses the Cal. Classic and the first game or two in Vegas.
And will Bonga/Wagner play in the Cal Classic if they might be part of the AD deal?
Seriously, all these summer league games should just start in mid-July or early August. Why make it difficult to get kids on rosters due to cap implications? |

Yeah I messed that up, I guess the proper was to say it is in relevance to their body measurements they have the same ratio. |

Wait.
Wing span to height ratios (in inches):
THT: 85/76=1.1184
Kawhi: 87/78=1.1154
They are certainly "on par" (which means about the same). In fact, one could say that THT's ratio is slightly better than Kawhi's (but there is so little difference that "on par" is a much better description).
Now, if Kawhi is 6' 7" then his ratio drops to 1.1013. Still, the two values are roughly on par. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

not only are their measurements similar, but when I watched his tapes, his game reminded me of kawhi lol. his arms r touching the floor, can t take away his dribble penetration, and he s got twitch, quickness, feels like he has a 2nd gear. seems to have a stepback , and a decent stroke. also his ability to finish at the rim is special. he s so smooth feels like he doesn't have much athleticism, but can see his athleticism by the way he recovers on defense when his opponent blows by him. hope he has the work ethic and a injury free career. |

Kawhi was measured at 6'6" without shoes.
THT was measures at 6'2.5" without shoes.
Removing shows, THT wingspan is even more impressive. |

THT wingspan is crazy
Good article that touches on what is a freakish wingspan

I watched five ISU games, two of which only the first half, on youtube after the draft. Overall speaking, I am not impressed although I can see the upside.
Strength
1. rare body type
Listed as a guard, he was used more as a forward, both defensively and offensively. Can guard low post pretty well against college PFs. Has size advantage against most guards. Because ISU played four guards, he was usually defended by forwards which negates such an advantage.
2. good basic skills
can dribble, pass and shoot like a guard. Defends the perimeter and the paint equally well.
3. pick and roll potential
ISU did not exploit it, but the potential is there both defensively and offensively. Clear path and tools to develop into a 3&D player and then some.
Weakness
1. average athleticism
not impressive vertically or laterally. I don't think he can guard NBA PGs, especially when required to change direction, perhaps due to higher center of gravity. Does not fight over screen well either.
2. shot selection and accuracy
too many occasions of over dribble, tough pull-up, or missed open looks. Needs to know his role and excel within it
3. low floor
Perhaps a small sample size, he does not stand out in any of the five games. Invisible and/or gets benched for long stretch. It's hard to describe but he does not show the mental approach of most elite players in college.
Watching THT reminds me of watching Thomas Bryant. Unlike Clarkson, Nance, Kuzma, these two lack the polished skills of upperclassmen. They don't have lottery talent like Ball, Randall, Ingram etc either. What they have is the foundation to develop into a nice role player. Bryant had good motor, size, passion, and a developing jump shot. THT has positional versatility, basic wing skills, and the youth to possibly transform his body and game.

yep. he's not a formed player/consistent contributor right now, even in the college ranks. Both THT and Bryant were both the youngest for their HS classes.
I think I watched 4 ISU games. And I caught one really nice one where his 3ball was on, and he was driving in transition too. It was just fun seeing an intriguing body/prospect actually showing these skills and succeeding - even though it wasn't consistent success/expected consistent success......It was literally the equivalent of an NBA rookie having his big games and you're like, this kid has a chance to be special. And then that rookie also consistently has flashes...
He was barely 18 for most of the season..and not in the best shape.. And btw, some of the players who went far ahead of him - like Cam Reddish, were just as inconsistent and invisible. And THT has just as many if not more physical tools. Similar seasons & tools for THT/Reddish. We just got this value at #46 instead of 10th.
And THT has passing flashes as well, that Reddish hasn't even broached as a part of his game. |

Interesting observation. Nate Silver's CARMELO projections actually have THT as No. 8 in the draft (No. 3! if scouting bias is not included) as compared to Reddish who was ranked No. 12.

Feels like we got great value fam _________________ “God knew they couldn’t be on this Earth without each other. He had to bring them home to have them together.” – Vanessa Bryant |

Watching his high school highlights, I think he played center in that squad, perhaps because he was the strongest. Maybe he can be classified as an undersized bigman with guard skills, and needs to transform into a wing with a strong body. With the basic offensive skills of a wing and defensive versatility to guard three positions, I guess his best chance is to start his career as a SF and see how it develops from there.
Thomas Bryant, although still raw as a sophomore, was the focal point of his team and showed such a mentality. THT, on the other hand, was a freshman in the very good and balanced team. Maybe that's why I don't see mental aspects such as leadership, will, presence etc.. |
