Kobe. There may have been better players in the NBA (I’d put him 2nd but I’m biased), but he’d win 1 on 1 vs Jordan, LeBron, Bird, KD, Wade whoever you want to name.

exactly. of those type of players, hes the best ive seen. the only historic goats i see beating him are guys like wilt and kareem due to height. technically speaking, someone like wilt would beat kobe 1on1 with normal rules because hed just back him down and shoot dunks and layups. nothing you can really do. even if kobes D was excellent, it wouldnt take much for him to go around or find some wiggle room. but if you dont factor that and go by a s sort inch-for-inch (pound-for-pound analogy) analysis, kobe is the best that ever lived in the nba. everyone knows it and says it as much as they can stomach. mj has said it...you guys can dispute the interpretation of what he says (its not a lot of words) but if you follow his history, he doesn't speak like that about anyone else, just kobe. and lot of other ex players speak the same way about kobe. the fans get hung up on numbers and accolades, and a lot just cant stomach saying these things about someone who was on trial for rape, so thats all part of the "polarizing" aspect of kobe. but just plain ol skills im going to beat you analysis, kobe stand a tad above mj. the video supports it, all the ex players say it, its only natural for the next guy to be a little better (see federer and sampras). and you also have to strongly factor that mj and kobe were the same exact kind of player for the most part. people compare lebron and curry to mj and it doesnt really work because their games are just not the same (not as good in a lot of ways). so then it devolves into a numerical argument, because fans think the numbers are the same,. points=points right?

so there you go. happy 4th. kawhi better sign his a$$ here.

I dunno who would be best, but Kareem played a younger Dr J after their retirement and whupped his butt. For those young'uns in the group, Dr J was one of the best, is not the best, one v one players ever.

But nothing stops the sky hook.
