$118,050,786 Guaranteed Total:

$08,089,282 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Should have been <$5m)
$03,000,000 Quinn Cook (Should have been the min)

This could have give the Lakers room to get another solid rotation player.

Also interesting Lakers didn't use the unlikely bonus loophole to stretch the capspace.

Why is the general consensus around here that McGee gets the starting nod over DMC?

DMC will have the entire summer here to rehab his quad and achilles and get himself in better shape. This is a huge contract year for him so I imagine he'll make that top priority.

McGee doesn't really provide spacing and one of the biggest assets he brought to the lineup last year was his roll gravity in pick and rolls but we have AD this year, making McGee kind of redundant. I like the idea of bringing in McGee off the bench to spell DMC/AD and injecting some energy on both sides of the court.

I know Boogie didn't necessarily shoot the ball very well last year but he is still a capable shooter who can hit the 3 and is more than capable of hitting the 15 footer. He fits much better in the starting lineup IMO

If it was up to me my starting lineup would be:

G: Avery Bradley
G: Danny Green
F: LeBron James
F: Anthony Davis
C: DeMarcus Cousins

McGee should start because he focuses on defense and rebounding, which is what the starting unit needs. McGee will get most of his points on fast breaks and broken plays.

Cousins needs to prove he can still play after two really serious lower body injuries. He looked terrible during the championship series. Plus, he has a big ego and will want/need touches, which makes him well suited to the second unit. He has never really been even an average 3-point shooter on a consistent basis.

I'd bring Cousins along slowly and start by giving him 10-15 minutes a game. Between his injuries and bad attitude, I have low expectations for him.

Why is rondo starting?
KCP playing out of position another year? Oof.

I'm not feeling that rotation at all honestly.. I'm hoping for Bradley and McGee to start for defense if nothing else plus bradley is just flat out better then rondo all around easily at this stage of there careers imo.

Also, would much prefer cousins playing with rondo on the bench and let boogie come along slowly and if he actually comes remotely close to returning to form then he can get the starting roll or at least extended minutes.

I think there is going to be a lot of situational lineups, especially at the guards. Green is going to start, and I think everything else is up in the air depending on performance and matchups.

I figure a little more defense in the starting lineup with McGee/Green/ and sometimes Bradley. More offense on the second team with Cousins/Kuzma/KCP.

Players have their own preferences. Just because we have capspace doesn't mean we can sign anybody we want.

The coaching staff will (hopefully) figure out the best starting lineup and rotations, but it could take into November.

With the LeBron as the PG, does that change the strategy of starting a traditional PG? I don't know..

I initially thought Rondo should start because of his experience, but with Bradley on board and LeBron as the PG, I think Rondo and his 8apg would be better served with the second unit, passing to Kuz, KCP and Cousins...

Also, McGee had a number of games last year, where he just killed it early in the first quarter, so unless Cousins is 100% back to his pre-injury form, I think it is best to bring him off the bench!

Also, Also: this ain't hockey with entire line changes, the bench gets staggered in based on match-ups, fouls and general how a player is performing. So we are going to see plenty of subbing and tinkering, if the coach is doing his job.

Starters:
PG: Bradley
SG: Green
SF: James
PF: Davis
C: McGee

Bench:
PG: Rondo / Caruso
SG: KCP / Cook
SF: Dudley / Daniels
PF: Kuz
C: Cousins

That's a deep bench, despite what the media is saying...

There are need gaps for sure but I do like the depth as well. Someone made a point that we lack the youth to get us through the marathon of a season but I think the depth makes up for that.

I'm all for starting McGee and Bradley. I'm worried about bringing Kuzma and Cousins off the bench together for defense. They'll need to stagger those substitutions if Cousins' weight loss doesn't translate into better mobility. I'm hoping either Cousins or Kuzma plays their way into the starting (or at least closing) lineup.

It would also be nice to see Caruso usurp minutes from Rondo, KCP, and Dudley though.

Leaving 2 years $20 from the Spurs for the 1 year $15 from the Knicks. One thing we know: Money over winning.

Post big numbers for a losing team and then milk a weak 2020 free agency class.

Phil was one of the ones who recommended Vogel. He'll never be able to return to the bench as long as Lebron's here but wouldn't surprise me if he's trying to exert control through his puppets. He's already got Rambis in a position of power.

Don’t blame the guy. He’s been traded 3 times 8 years. He doesn’t harbor any delusions that signing with a team means he’ll stay on the team. Money is the only thing that's guaranteed.

Funny how the media is claiming Clippers D is gonna be sick, but they look mismatch against our possible starting lineup as of now. Am I wrong or missing something

Avery (6'2") vs Beverly (6'1") or Beverly (6'1")
Green (6'6") vs Shamet (6'5") or Kawhi (6'7")
LBJ (6'8") vs Kawhi (6' 7") or PG (6'9")
AD (6'10") vs PG (6'9") or Harrell (6'8")
BC (6'11") vs Harrell (6'8") or Zu (7'1")
