Ask yourself if he was playing for the Raptors instead of Kawhi (and had not slipped on that wet spot and gotten injured), would the Raptors have still won the title against that injured GSW team? I believe he would have.

I still think we have a shot to see 1-2 titles from Lebron forthcoming, and when he does it, people will say, "oh, yeah."

$1m/yr body maintenance including daily nitro tank therapy does reduce inflammation and prolong your peak ( I think )

Hopefully.

Last I checked he was:

28/8/8 on ~50% from the fields

Are you kidding me? Ya he just didn't give a F on defense but that was just because IMO he just knew it was a BS year.

He's still the best player in the world when he wants to be and second place is not even close. He is effectively Magic + Micheal in a 265 pound body.

Father time is undefeated though and I honestly think he's a serious injury away from falling off the face of the earth. While healthy though? No doubt.

I voted no, because any given night Steph, Harden, Giannis, Embiid, Kawhi, PG, KD, etc, could claim that crown.

Honestly though, how many people here still thinks Kobe is the best player today. 😝

There is now way to answer this question
He was cruising last year before the injury and was butting up numbers better than kawhi who had to be load managed. Then he was rehabbing after the injury at like 70% and still had great games. Then was shut down. We never go to see playoff Lebron. His motivation this year maybe his best yet. Of course he’s older but his body is stronger than Giants, maybe stinger than kawhi who has to have load management. So he’s up there I don’t know who’s a clear cut better. He grade for last year is an incomplete.

No. He's turning 35 this upcoming season. However, based off health, the way he takes care of himself, his athleticism and size, he'll still be an all star and top 5-7 player in the league.

Maybe, maybe not. When you don't make the playoffs in the NBA people forget you exist. Lebron is just a year removed from putting up 51/8/8 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on the road.

He’s still the best all around offensive player but defensively he’s bad. I’d still rank him top 3

Nobody knows. How does he hold up? The guy is a bull. I find it funny that nobody talks about KL. He is on the frail side and is going to start logging a lot of playoff minutes (which should make us appreciate Kobe and LJ more). I do not think his shelf life is as long as a normal 28 year older.

If lebron moves to point guard, thats going to give him a bigger excuse to even play less defense than last season.

Last year I would've said no but with Durant out and the Freak's shooting weakness being exploited in the playoffs I kind of think that he is. I give the edge to LeBron's playmaking over Kawhi's defense, and if the chips are down, I'm sure LeBron can still play great D for brief stretches. I also think he'll feel more motivated this season knowing that he has a real shot at a ring. Also I'm sure he'll be getting himself some excellent, uh, supplements in the off-season.

His first step was what made him so unique, giving him the ability to finish at the rim thru contact. Now you see him pounding the ball more looking for that opening that isn't there anymore. Now he's settling for longer and longer fall away jumpers. If he had developed a post game earlier on he would be a monster down low but he didn't so he won't even operate there. I don't think it's motivation.

The best player in the world is to subjective. One day it's A, next it's B, next it's C. What's the criteria? Is longevity considered? How about consistency, career Stats? Defense, offence? The poll question is to narrow.

Having said that I go with LeBron James.

Over 82 games I'm not sure he can be the best on a nightly basis anymore.

But for one game, when you need him to be? Absolutely.

Playoff Lebron is without a doubt the deadliest player in basketball, by a pretty decent margin. I couldn't care less about the best regular season player.

I think Kawhi is the only guy who is better, and that's based on playoff performance. I think the answer depends on what Lebron does in the playoffs this year. Until we see him fall off in the playoffs, I'll keep him #2. I'd still take him over the guys below him as of right now.

Top 6 (no Durant):

Kawhi
Lebron
Steph
Harden
Giannis
Davis

This sums it up perfectly for me.

I can't believe how many of our fans don't consider Lebron the best player in the league, nobody is even close to him, you can put four random guys with Lebron and he would easily beat any other NBA superstar also surrounded with four random guys.

It seems that the flavor of the day is Kawhi because he won against crippled Warriors, so does that mean that Dirk was better player than Lebron or Kobe in 2011, i don't think so.

Lebron even in this age is ridiculously athletic and he will dominate for at least two or three years.

One thing about Kawhi ... about 100 doctors diagnosed him with tendonopathy (even though he didn't want to believe it). The thing about this injury is that it will never get better. Kawhi was playing through pain in the post season despite being load managed the entire year, and he'll have to play through that pain and be load managed for the rest of his career. He did not look real good at the end of the post season (limping).

Anyone want to take any bets on how long he'll last as one of the top players in the NBA?
