I think the Clips will be one of the many contenders, but I think there is a premature coronation of the team. Few questions:
1. health of KL/PG
2. who is setting these guys up?
3. will it be a KL turn, PG turn, Lou turn, sort of team? Heavy iso?
4. is Zub really a long term answer at center?
5. Montrez is a great backup center, but is he getting a bit overhyped now?
1- Valid
2- Not a huge concern at all IMO, Doc will find ways to get the ball moving
3- Maybe but those are 3 unstoppable guys when they get going
4- Many here thought he was, but Harrell will be closing games no doubt. FA's available
5- He was still runner up to Lou and JC for 6MOY, is a brute force type player who can shoot, he's great

It's a bit different having an egalitarian system last year with 0 all stars. Now you have two guys who are legit 27-28ppg scorers. Will be an interesting transition. But I do see that it will be a your turn/my turn style offense IMO. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Inherent tension of two ball dominant ballhandlers. I've said it elsewhere, but you can certainly argue that Kobe+Pau in '10 were a better duo than LeBron+Wade in '11, even if you argue LeBron was better than Kobe and (prime) Wade was better than Pau as I do. There's more inherent synergy around a superstar wing and big.
I actually think PG is the perfect 2nd wing in a pairing of two stars (he's exactly what we need next to Bron), but IMO that's negated by Kawhi being a meh distributor as a first option. TBH I didn't even like the fit of Kawhi in LA (on offense)... but obviously if you can get a Top-3 player in the NBA you do it and figure out fit later.
I still have the Clippers as the early favorites, but they're not close to beating the field IMO. (And where Iggy ultimately ends up can make a huge difference.)
Honestly, it's out of sight, out of mind for BOTH LeBron and AD right now. People seem to have forgotten how great these guys are. But no worries, Harrell can check AD from what I've heard. Top 3 6th man of the year finalist is typically an even match-up vs an MVP caliber one, apparently.

One guy is almost good enough to be a starter vs better than all your starters at the same position. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan

How come?
Because I would have been at work and could have watched it. Lol. Now I don't know what I will be doing on Saturday, so might have to watch it later _________________ Previously LBJ23

AD makes it look so easy to score 30+ points. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Use the same logic for haircuts. Rather do it on a weekday during work hours than a weekend.

Doc had Gallo out front initiating the offense at times. He can be pretty creative. We will likely counter at times with AD doing it. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
Davis will become the best player to be traded in the past 40 years. His numbers and accomplishments still don't match up with some of the all-time greats, however.
Given his age, state of his career and overall game when he was moved, Abdul-Jabbar is still the best player in history to ever be traded in his prime.

AD is going to have his way with the Clippers. Harrell and Zubac are going to get annihilated by him. He's the worst mismatch in the league for opposing bigs or 2nd to Giannis.
Where do you think you rank among players in today’s NBA, and why? Anthony Davis: I’m the best in the world. I think I do a lot of things that a lot of players can’t do as far as playing a complete game. I can play on the block, play on the perimeter, play defense on both ends, switch 1-5, guard, score the basketball. I want to be the most dominant player in the game, and I’m going to continue to do that. Obviously you have players like Kawhi, KD, LeBron, Steph all of those guys who are the same way. They’re great players, talented players, Hall of Famers, and that’s what makes our game fun. Everyone wants to be the best in the league. Everyone wants to be the most dominant, and that’s when our competitive edge comes out on the floor and makes the game so fun to watch
The media & talking heads are so enamored by the Clips & KL crap that they have almost completely discounted, overlooked and ignored AD.
They rarely talk about AD in terms of being an elite two-way player, either. DPOY voters won't forget, but it's amazing that they only talk about AD's defensive prowess in passing. The funny thing is that PG and Kawhi's defensive skills have little value against the Lakers strengths, which is in the post. We'll see how successful PG and Kawhi are in guarding LeBron. Zubac, Harrell and whoever are going to get lit by AD and Boogie.
