If Boogie can return to some his pre-Achilles form, that would be incredible in terms of how much success we can have next year.
if Cousins were to somehow return to his pre-achillies form then the Lakers would and should be considered a WCF team at minimum, and anything less would be an underachievement.
Cousins is the x factor tbh. LeBron and Davis we know, but they need that third star, they'll have to hinge that on Kuzma or Cousins. If Cousins returns to pre-achillies form, they'll have their 3rd star.
Right. When every contender has two all stars, the rest of the rotation will decide the result. Even if LBJ and AD play 96 minutes together, there are 144 minutes for others. Hope Cousins, Kuzma, and perhaps Bradley can play much better than last season.
Wow looks like he dropped 22lbs, that will be key to his movement and easy on that Achilles
Lakers should have locked him up on two years
Um, finals ended like 25 days ago, that would be like losing a pound a day since the finals ended.....I think we should calm down a bit.
It would be like a 140 pound woman losing ten pounds... 20 pounds wouldn't be out of the question if he ate huge quantities to begin with.
I won’t go all weight loss dietician on you, but the most you should lose healthfully is 2 pounds per week...(not gonna bother to go into losing muscle mass, gallstones, nutrient deprivation, etc). You’re saying he’s lost 7 pounds a week for the past 3 week.. which is possible but leads to other health concerns...
CONCLUSION: An Achilles tendon rupture is a devastating injury that prevents RTP for 30.6% of professional players. Athletes who do return play in fewer games, have less play time, and perform at a lower level than their preinjury status. However, these functional deficits are seen only at 1 year after surgery compared with matched controls, such that players who return to play can expect to perform at a level commensurate with uninjured controls 2 years postoperatively.
Year 2 is with the Lakers. Food for thought. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

He looks great at that interview. I hope the injuries are behind him and he can start playing real basketball. He looks happy also which is really important.
If he has a great season then we can’t sign him. We don’t have the cap space.
If he has a great season we win it all. I'm good with him getting paid somewhere else afterwards.
If he plays well for us, what do I care? He deserves to get paid somewhere. The Kings did him dirty. It’s okay when organizations trade people to avoid a Supermax, but it’s not okay for players to want out.
Can anyone who’s seen a lot of Boogie (on the Pelicans and on GSW pre-hamstring) tell me how the Achilles injury affect him play. Was he anywhere close to what he was before?

From the games I watched last season with GSW he looked like a player coming back from an injury. Good thing about him is that he was never athletic to begin with. Never relied on speed and jumping high. His game is all skills and power. He showed a lot flashes before he hurt his quad. Also does not help his case that he was the 4th/5th option on that team. But he still put up pretty good numbers in the minutes he played. Defensively his not as bad as everyone thinks.

Yeah that would be ideal, if Cousins helps us to win it all next season, i would be more than happy for him if he gets max offer from any team with enough cap space next summer.
We can't be too greedy and expect him to play for us dirt cheap, we should cherish this upcoming season and enjoy while we have him, after that if he's back to his all-star level, then he deserves to get paid.
so we only have boogie for one year since next year we wont have cap space to sign him?
Unless we cleared space to do so...which you might do if he looks like All Star Cuz again.
Or he takes a year full MLE and gets paid the next season. The same thing to be done with Lebron in the summer on 2021.
I know there are some that don't like the signing but I see it as a lottery ticket. No risk and a possibly high reward.
I cannot see any downside to a 3.5m deal for a guy who is all NBA level talent.
Last year, totally understandable to say no to him as he was fresh of an Achilles injury. But a full year and half after it? I'm ecstatic about this. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
