Lebron essentially took a whole year off of basketball including the grueling playoffs. This is the first time in his career he's had this much time off the court so I'm wondering if all of this rest could negate him being 2 years older in the '20 playoffs compared to '18.
Jordan took 2 years off (he was a bit younger) and came back better than ever. Now I'm not comparing Lebron to MJ or that Lebron is about to have the best season of his career but is it far fetched to think that we will see the same Lebron we got in 16/17/18 in the upcoming season? |

LeBron has the kind of genetics where I don't think there will be much of a difference between 33/34/35/36/37 in terms of basketball ability. The bigger factor will be the ability to rest and recover. I feel like that turnaround from dragging the Cavs to the Finals at 33 and trying to drag the Lakers to the playoffs at 34 was too much, which is why he broke down.
Which is all to say: yes, I think Bron being rested off-sets what little aging occurred between 34 and 35. |

I wouldn't call missing 20 or so games because of injuries taking a whole year off.
Anyway, Lebron was playing fine before the injuries and I expect him to play fine next year. |

20 rs games + entire post season is a pretty long break given the load Lebron typically carries |

Yea I think it will. Sit him on one of the b2b games all year. Do what raptors did, we have the depth to do well in regular season. Come playoff time have him play as much as needed. |

I don't think LeBron will look more athletic and explosive, but maybe he'll look about the same this season as in 2018-19.
Hopefully he'll age the way Kareem did where he gradually loses his athleticism but his production doesn't fall off much even at age 37 or 38.
Kareem won the MVP of the 1985 Finals at age 38, and watching those games on ESPN Classic he looked like he was 28. _________________ "Lindsay Hunter is starting to make Devean George look like John Stockton" - Bill Walton, Game 4 of the 2002 WCFs |

I think having Anthony Davis to share the load will be the biggest help. For one thing LeBron won't have to be the team's best rebounder anymore. |

That's about 938 hrs, which is about 39 days of straight basketball non-stop. My LCD Samsung can last about 5 to 10 yrs if I leave it on 24 hrs a day. Humans are weak. LOL! |

Even without the rest, I wouldn't be worried about Lebron. Sure he's going to keep declining at a certain rate because father time is undefeated but I think he's basically guaranteed to be a top 10 player for the rest of his contract at the very least not accounting for injures.
Two top 10 players is enough star power to win IMO _________________ Did Jordan Clarkson think Metta's 3 at the end was going in? "I don't know. He was shaking like a stripper in the corner." |

To at first step that made him so unique is gone forever. Look for more and more step back jumpers. I think it's too late for him to develope a post game. It is what it is. |

A well rested LBJ won't offset his age (gain)..
But a motivated LBJ will! |

It will help....I expect him to come out of the gates energized, but I expect him to wise up during the season and start reserving a little bit for the playoffs. A year older at his age is a year older....the best are able to preserve their abilities longer, but nobody turns back the clock.
We do not need physical 30 year old Lebron. |

so many incorrect assumptions here...
an age tells you nothing. nothing about how lebron played last year indicates he is any different from anything else he did 2010-2018. so not sure what you guys saw last year. this is how he always plays.
second, lbj is very conservative player. he doesnt really take risks and he flops if there's anything remotely dangerous happening. this is why he doesnt get injured. he is very careful.
lebron's minutes doesn't matter. whether he plays 30 or 40 minutes, he will play the same way. he has no other way of playing. does he get tired? yes...he does not work very hard on his stamina, he works on his muscles. so he is not going to be that wilt, kobe, mj type player who focuses on having a good stamina.
also so what if someone is 34-35? there is no big difference vs 30. again, what is it you are seeing that is so different? its all in your heads. go watch old videos of him, its all the same. and people age differently. so much talk about "genetics"...yea it helps, but again what are you noticing that you are attributing to genetics? with lbj its usually muscles. so he has big muscles=good genes? lol. its good if you like big muscles, but has nothing to do with body wear and tear and other things related to that.
i dont think we have to worry about lebron physically. the thing to worry about is him missing fts and bricking and playing badly, which is what he does young or old. so we have the super team now, he better be smart and do the right things. i am not at all worried about him getting tired or old or injured. _________________ U+1F49C |
