“Cap space” got us Lebron and AD and back to contention. If Lebron didn’t come, it would have been Kawhi and PG.

Exactly. That was always first and foremost on the Lakers minds. From Mitch/Jim to Magic/Rob to Rob/Rambii.

When people wonder why sometimes I'll get triggered and start making comments defending the young core.

It's because of comments like these.

No one's talking about them... yet here we go.

I won't talk about them now... but this is how it sometimes starts.

Not even sure what is at issue here. Our predominant concern was maintaining cap space at all costs. I think you're creating something out of nothing.

I can accept your explanation as it is something innocuous, I can also explain how one could interpret it as a diss.

But I said I won't derail this time, so I'll leave it at that.

Some have openly wondered why I'll bring up old news... it's usually because of someone commenting about the past.

Saying that we valued cap space like it was "sacred" (Rob Pelinka's voice) is a "diss?" Wow. This is not old news or the past. This is how we rounded out our team and had cap space to absorb AD.

Don’t bring Mitch/Jim up please. They actually put us in deep hole with Deng/Mogzov contract, costs us a whole lot. I just would hate to be OKC fan right now. Even all the picks they get, not one might be lottery.

You have asked me several times... why are you talking about the past?

So, keeping an open mind... I asked myself the same question

Then I saw a comment that would have made me start talking about the past... and I stopped myself.

You brought up the past... not me.

So next time, I start talking about the past... consider that you and others might sometimes play a part in that... instead of acting like I constantly bring it up out of nowhere.

This is ridiculous. Sorry that it "triggers" you but people talk about the past here all the time. Eggshell plaintiffs are not our fault here.

No, the point is that across different regimes, the emphasis has unabashedly been about cap space (even when they did the horrific Moz/Deng moves).

On the general topic, the Lakers have been talking about saving cap space even during the Mitch era. Well, we finally did something with it. It's my wish that we can go veeeeerrrrry deep into the P/O's this coming season. To early for wine, but I'll catch up a little later...

Yeah agreed, Jimmy and him should work well together, they’ll respect each other

I’d guess it’d be Dragic, JJ and Waiters? Any picks?

CP3 and Jimmy deserve each other.

Same with Harden and WB.

And we had achieved it while having several young players and draft picks intact

We divested those assets and got a player who we probably would have gotten anyway and didn't get the asset the space was reserved for.

But, oh well... close enough.

I'm actually more receptive to Lance coming back. Need a guy with size to guard guys like PG/KL and Korver can't do it.

If he can just catch and shoot and not the other stuff he does it can work with him. But yea Korver is done no point in going that route

Would Dragic get bought out? Or just play?

If not bought out:

Dragic
Shai
Winslow
Gallinari
Adams

If bought out:

Dennis
Shai
Winslow
Gallinari
Adams

Either way, a good tank of a team
