oh okay you raggedy charlatan, then why are they picking the 2010 team if not for that reason?

65% of poll takers (as of today) disagree with you.

Well the 2010 team won the championship. The 2020 hasn’t played yet. People will naturally skew to the team that actually had success over the team that might have the same success.

Wait, Matt Barnes was not on the 2009 and 2010 championship teams. I thought I was tripping for a second, I had to look it up

What bollocks are you talking, boy? The poll favors the 2010 team by far. What are you on about?

Aside from the players, Phil + Tex > Vogel + Kidd + Hollins

Until I see 2020 Lakers win ONE game, I think ya gotta go with the 2010 Lakers...

2010 Lakers had
Kobe playing at an MVP level
Gasol who had an MVP level year next season and was an all star (okay nvm the 2011 playoffs, this is 2010)
Bynum still productive and a starter
Fisher who could hit some shots and play some D (unless it's quick scoring guards)
Artest who could not figure out the triangle offense, but played great man D.
Odom who was a great 6th man and would win the award next year.

2019 Lakers have
Lebron playing at an MVP level
AD playing at an all star level but could potentially go above that
Try Burke a good shooter who hasn't done much
Danny Green a good 3D guy
Avery Bradly good 3D guy
Cousins who has a lot of question marks and can be productive as a starter
McGee who has a lot of question marks but can be kind of productive as a starter
Kuzma who is can be a good 6th man

I think the two teams are not that dissimilar.

A back to back championship team vs a team that has yet to play a game? Hmm.

The 2010 team was defense-oriented with pieces that fit together well. It was an average offense team and below average shooting team. It wasn't a particularly deep team.

I am not sure what the 2020 team will be yet. Most of the team is new, and many of the guys have never played together before. But I don't see it as particularly similar to the 2010 team.

--

Oh, and some of the your comparisons are a stretch. Gasol didn't have an MVP level season in '11. He didn't even make the all-NBA 1st team. He never received a single vote for MVP in his career.

Comparing Kuz and Odom is pretty eye-rolling too. Completely different kinds of players.
