East Ventura. If you are brave enough to go out at night, you might find someone jay walking, or throwing litter on the ground.
Seriously, I have worked all through the LA area, nothing scared me as much as parts of Memphis and all of East St. Louis. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
you know what. watching that video and another one i just saw me and the wife are like wait a second. we just were in vancouver right there. when i say right there. i mean right there where your video is showing. i have pictures. same alley, same graffiti backdrop. sure we saw a couple of hard on their luckers. but that was about it. they must have pushed them into the burbs or something. because it didnt look nearly that bad, and this was like the fall 2011. not long ago.
but at the same time. we are from L.A. born and raised in the hood. so looking at that isnt scary to us. we've seen it to many times in the 90's. _________________ LAL4K3RS wrote: He(Kobe) is the white haired kung fu master that you realize is older than dirt but can still kick your arse when in a sitting position drinking a nice herbal tea.

Lived in Panorama City for about 17 years. Wasn't horrible but definitely not a "good" area.
I live in the Antelope Valley now. It's much worse than the east valley but not because of the crime. But because of all of the right winged, beer drinking, deer humping rednecks and their F150s. Sorry, Bill Joe Bob Carl Danny Frank, I thought this was still considered L.A. County. Everywhere I turn there's no shortage of cactus filled, tumbleweed rolling desert. The town sherriff is also the town drunk who happens to be the barber who's married to the city mayor who's daughter is friends with the (bleep) my wife used to work with.
I have to be careful not to flip anybody off on the road because it could be my in laws. Yes, the town is that small and pathetic. My wife and I saw the same person in 3 different stores at different times of the day. A typical weekend for "those" people is either working on putting their longhorns on the front of their truck, taking a family trip to Wal Mart, or buying a new flannel and some work boots.
You should see the stares I get when I go to Lowe's. I pull up in my dinky 01 Corolla without a flannel, a handlebar mustache, tap out cap, and work boots. If you value your youth, sanity and creative goals, you will stay the (bleep) away from the Antelope Valley.
Touristy neighborhoods. You know the neighborhoods that are overcrowded with tourists saturated with expensive brand name shops and overpriced restaurants.
Speaking of which, why do people from the mainland come to hawaii just to wait in line to eat at a cheesecake factory or outbeak steakhouse in Waikiki?

Lives in Palmdale for 10 years, it was getting pretty dicey by the mid-1990's. We moved out as soon as I got a chance at a better job in a nicer area. No regrets. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!

All that within a 4 year span.

did you leave anywhere near harbor/hazard?
Yes.
Wow...I had a friend who lived on hazard in college and every time I came by his house I'd see all kinds of nutty, vulgar hijinks (rampant street prostitution, dope slanging, general thuggery) that totally shattered my impression of Orange County. _________________ "All wars are civil wars, because all men are brothers."
