The kid is a project. He'll need someone working with him on
everything, if he's going to have a chance. Hopefully, the FO
recognizes that and gives him the support he needs.

At 21 Giannis had a breakout year. Giannis played in the Pros over in Europe. Kostas had 1 year of College and 1 year in the G-League. Kidd saw him blossom into a real NBA player, let's hope he and the Lakers staff and show him how to use his strengths as a player.

How do his measurements compare to his brother Giannis?

I remember really liking his potentially defensively in college. I think he’s a great end of the bench bigman. I thought this team was missing that and hoped we could get j Williams back. This is good too

Giannis grew and his wingspan didn't get remeasured so it's hard to know. But Kostas has the same length as Ingram in combined R+WS; and Giannis is probably a good amount longer than that

Ah, good to know. While not as good as Giannis' wingspan, that's still pretty good. I'll be happy if he's just a defensive presence that can finish..

Don’t think so, at all. He’s like Bonga raw but as a PF, and detrimentally skinny. Ingram length. Has a bit of an awkward gate. Has some potential skills. He’s like a raw Christian Wood but less long
Lol i was gonna say a poor man's Bonga.

In terms of being raw, but not in terms of game. Bonga doesn't play big, he plays more like a wing. Whereas Kostas seems to be more of a big.

How's the "2021 plan" work? AD AND Giannis? Twin towers status?

Nice to steal someone away from the Mavs...!

Well... about that:

Quote:
The Mavs made the decision to waive Kostas after what could be said as a horrible summer league for the young Greek. In the five games he played and started in Las Vegas, Antetokounmpo never really managed to impress. He wound up playing just 13.5 minutes a game, averaging 5.8 points and 2.8 rebounds on 39.3 percent shooting from the field and 18.2 percent from the 3-point territory.

To anybody..if he didnt have that last name..would you honestly be happy with this pickup?smh....THT..now this? smh...why not go for actual talent that could help us or a young prospect that had to be cut due to no room but played really well in summer league?...

Kostas is 6'11" but weights ~200 lbs.

He is a combo forward without a jump shot.

That is why Dallas cut him.

It is tough to be a C now a days without at least a J to 15 feet. Exceptions are dominant defensive Cs.

He can play C in the G League but not NBA, well with the exception of small ball lineups.

This guy is exactly who the 2-Way is designed to sign:

- low risk
- high reward

With perks:

- exposes his brother to the city of Los Angeles
- creates a natural back channel to Giannis

My bet is that Kostas becomes the most pampered player in the history of the G League.

Project player.

Cut after a poor summer league, showed 'some' promise in G-League last year.

We all know how much to actually depend on summer league as a barometer.

But I will say he wasn't that impressive. Then again, you can say he's only 21. We've seen better from people that we had, on our roster, younger than 21, that was treated as if they were destined to never improve.

So I'll say it would be very unexpected if he contributed this year. But low risk signing. You get the reward if he makes the same leaps as his brother, but at this point in his brother's development, he could play point forward, or at least was showing his game coming around to that extent. Kostas still plays like an off the bench role player at best.

We'll see.

Just showing Giannis that the Lakers really take care of their players and even the family of future players.

Definitely think this is about establishing a relationship with Giannis' family and setting the table up for 2021.

However the kid has talent on defense. Nothing else really sticks out to me. But defensively, he has talent. If the coaching staff can work with him on a 3 point shot, and/or a jumpshot, he's a capable interior defender who can come out and defend the perimeter as well.
