Pretty much, LOL.

But trying to equate Giannis moving to the Lakers in appreciation for us picking up
his Bro is far fetched. There are a few reasons why he wound not move including
LBJ. Giannis has said many a time he would not participate of LBJ's summer
training because they compete and he's not going to show him what he has ahead
of a season. That leads to believe Giannis wants to win, yes, but not on LBJ's
shoulders. I think he'll walk his own path and yes he will appreciate the Lakers picking
up his brother; separate issues IMO.

Maybe Kidd can help him develop. Maybe Kidd sees something in him.

IF AD resigns with the Lakers, we'll have most of our money tied up
between AD & LBJ. I wouldn't disregard the thought but it seems like
very much a long shot, at best.

Someone needs to work with Kostas if he is to develop. I see Kidd busy
with the NBA team and trying to backstab Vogel.

This is a project with great potential. 6'11" Long and Athletic . From the interview, he is considered to be the most athletic of the brother per Greek Freak.

Measurable (2:52) last year

I'm glad the Lakers picked him up Kostas, firstly we get a back channel to Giannis and secondly, he is a project the can develop into an actual usable player in the NBA, because of his youth, athleticism, measurable and genes.

Lakers brass were paying attention to Giannis' MVP speech.

I remember him mentioning that his brothers are his "ride or die".

Certain aspects of athleticism he’s a freak.. others, he’s a baby giraffe — he can’t jump off one leg at speed, he gets no lift; barely dunks it.
His 2 footed leaps are elite elite; and he seems to like using that ability for verticality on D, and those plays look spectacular. He has athletic upside I’d think; he literally can barely dunk off one foot.
Not sure about his speed either, looks solid, fast for height but probably not elite

Giannis isn't coming here just because we signed his brother. I think we signed his brother because we see his potential. I do.

This. Finally, someone who can guard Brandon Ingram, Giannis and Kawhi Leonard and can also play limited minutes at the center spot.

He is no Greek freak, but he has a lot of tools from watching some of his moves. Agree he is a 2 feet jumper, but that is a more balance and less injury prone player IMO. He reminds me of a project we had that turned out to be a player for us - Bynum. Baby giraffe but if he fill like his brother might be a player for us at the PF/C.

He will be with South Bay and I don’t think that Kidd will be coaching there.

He’s on a two way contract so he’ll actually be around Kidd a lot.

Yeah I think he should bulk up a bit, work on a 3 point shot and be a stretch backup 5. That's his best bet to make it to the NBA. He won't make it in the league as a 4 or 3, IMO.

So how do 2 ways work again in terms of keeping a player long term?

Say Handy does miracles and he becomes a rotation player level player. Do we get RFA rights on him next summer like we did for Caruso?

Nice to steal someone away from the Mavs...!

Mavs gave up on the kid after one season. They had him on a two-way contract so it wasn't like what we had to do with trading away Bonga's contract for cap space. I see enough defensive potential worth giving him a look even if his brother doesn't come. That's what the G-League is supposed to be for.

What is failure for some can be success for others. There are a lot of stories like this in the nba to just assume negativity.

Remember how rough Marc Gasol was when we drafted him? If the Lakers can unlock this kid's potential then hang on to him rather than pull the trigger prematurely this could be a brilliant move.

Kostas Antetokounmpo's Two-Way Potential

Quote:
He’s an effective pick-and-roll big, who has good pace and feel when rolling to the basket, as well as the athleticism and length to finish plays off with a bang. He ranked among the G League’s 71st percentile among P&R screeners, averaging 1.23 points per possession.

If he can defend and block shots for 10-15 minutes, then that is good enough for me. IMO.
