Kobe should not be on any third team.
It was probably because he did not play much for the decade.
Isn't the decade ten years?
But of all the players only Curry could match his accomplishments. |

Carmelo even on this list. Wow.
What has he done this past decade to warrant this?
2012-13: 2nd team All-NBA
2011-12: 3rd team All-NBA
He's never even made the 1st team so he can be one of the 15 greatest players over the past decade?
Westbrook was 1st All-NBA (15/16 & 16/17) and the league MVP (16/17) _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

These decades lists are always apples to orange, because you are drawing an arbitrary line that compares 10 years of one's player prime to 3 years of another player's prime. It's really just the appeal of round numbers, like a decade, but it doesn't actually mean anything. They can be fun in a superficial way. |

Westbrook was 1st All-NBA (15/16 & 16/17) and the league MVP (16/17) |
First, you have to remember this isn't a list of the top 15 greatest players of the decade. It's positional, so Melo is only in competition with bigs. What guards didn't matter.
Second, Anthony didn't make a 1st all-NBA team. However every forward who did for the decade is on the team. So that's a moot point. I guess you could put on an all-NBA 1st team center, but most of those guys won the top slot because of the weakness of the position.
Third, it's hard for me to think of anyone not included who tops his accomplishments for the decade: all-star 8 of 10 years, 3 all-NBA teams, scoring champ.
Who would you replace him with? Most of the candidates I can think of (Duncan, Gasol) were only good for half of the decade or less. |

I think Kobe is lucky to make 3rd team
For the decade he had 2 good seasons? Then was injured for the rest until he retired |

The criteria for this list starts in 09-10 season. So Kobe had 09/10, 10/11, 11/12, and 12/13 seasons being 1st Team All NBA and winning 1 ring. Then post achilles tear he obviously was a shell of himself and having 2 more injury ending seasons before his final season. I'd say off the strength of his first 4 seasons in the 2010s he deserves to be on there over the likes of Carmelo and Blake Griffin. I think the 2 guys that got snubbed actually are Dame Lillard and Klay Thompson, both should have made it over BG & Melo. |

Again, it's not the best 15 guys from any position. Its three teams each made up of 2 guards and 3 bigs. So you cant replace Melo or Griffin with a guard. You can only replace them with another forward or center. |

Okay, that makes sense. When I first saw the list, mentally I was starting with ‘11. If you add ‘10, that’s enough of a body of work to pick him over Lillard. As for Melo, I’m hard pressed to think of another forward who was clearly superior over the decade, even though I think Melo is overrated. |

What's Melo doing in there? If he was actually worthy of 2nd all decade team, don't you think people would sign him for max already because he's still only 35 years young? but it's looking like right now nobody even wants him for vet min. Westbrick in his prime would be better than Harden in his prime. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend! |

I assumed 09-10 would be on the previous decade. I started with 00-01 when assuming that decade. |
