If the Laker Bench needed scoring help, then getting Melo would make sense, he could be our "Lou Williams"..

BUT: if you add the career averages for the entire Laker squad, it adds up to 168ppg!

So all we need is for everyone to score at their career average ppg, the Lakers should outscore their opponents by about 50 ppg!

Seriously, I think the Bucks led the NBA in scoring last season at something like 117ppg, meaning there are going to be A LOT of Lakers who score LESS than their career averages next season, and the haters here will surely point them out!

So again, we don't need Melo's scoring (or his matador defense), we need defensive stoppers!

The RISK is huge, a veteran player with a huge ego, that refuses to play defense, is NOT what you need for a team trying to find it's identity and win a championship..

And THAT is why no one has signed him..
