Magic released a tweet of his top-60 TV shows recently and demonstrated that his true post-basketball talents lie in business franchising and pop culture criticism: https://twitter.com/MagicJohnson/status/1161405908200460288

The only critique I would make is that he should flip Ballers and The Wire, but outside of that and the ESPN pandering, that's a damn fine list. Entries #51-60 are the perfect "oh crap! I forgot a lot of great tv" additions to boot.

A list in alphanumerical order that one can only expect from the minds that bought you The Magic Hour™.

I refuse that obvious explanation! This is Magic we're talking about.

Not surprisingly, Magic and I have very different tastes.

My top 60 lists would have no more than 10 of his shows.

The guy does seem stuck in the 70s and 80s.

Can the off-season get any lower than discussing the favorite TV shows of a former Laker executive and player?

I need for the season to start.

What irritated me is the man put the list in alphabetical order rather than actually ranking them in order of favorites LOL... Magic's still my guy though.

People in the comments are so dumb or just trolls. It's obvious the list is in alphabetical order... Sort of.

Hey, hey now... many of the old shows on his list would make mine. Count me as one of the people stuck in the 80's. Honestly, I hate the new modern contents that started with MTV Real World. Family oriented shows and sit-coms taken over by reality shows. Can't sit down and watch anything with your kids. What ever happened to shows like Family Ties, Cosby Show, Gimme a Break, Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, Growing Pains, etc. Or, hour formats like A-Team, Knight Rider, Hunter... It used to be okay for children to watch prime time shows. Now I'm nervous flipping the channels with them sitting next to me. They are now relegated to the kids section of Netlfix. Then again, if you gave me the kids section of Netflix as a kid in the 80's, I think my mind would be blown. LOL!

Yeah, modern TV is trash. Everything gets watered down throughout time regardless to how much the Millennial's whine about it. They'll see for themselves in 20 years.

How is it "trash?" I haven't watched much prestige tv the past 3-4 years, but how is Mad Men (which ran until 2015) "trash?" Is HBO's Barry "trash?"

And for every M*A*S*H back in the day there were 10+ "Dr. Marcus Welby, M.D." throwaway programs that lasted for years. The only difference between then and now is that there was less of everything given technology limitations; there's more crap now along with more good stuff.

It's the Cable station (HBO) effect. Everyone is pushing to be as edgy as possible to compete with HBO (and other cable stations) which can show drugs, nudity and drop 5 f-bombs in a 2 minute scene.

You're angry because he didn't have The Love Boat on his list. I know it.

It's The SoPRANos Effect, cmow... Tho Miami Vice had some elements of that effect further back on plain telly.
