If Eddie Jones was signed, not only would that make the Lakers cut either Mckie or Shammond. Eddie would probaly take over as backup 2guard and move Sasha to 3rd string. |

Why would he go to Miami? So that Snaq can get him traded a third time? _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

thats what I'm thinking just cause thats the last team he played for before he was traded. _________________ New Orleans Hornets superstar point guard Chris Paul is reportedly headed to the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster trade. |

As unlikely as it is that Eddie will wind up back in a Laker uniform, I can't say I'd mind hearing "Ed-die, Ed-die" chants raining down from the rafters again. Plus, that #6 jersey hanging in my closet would no longer be totally useless. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

Oh man, I loved EJ back in the day. Sad (but necessary) day when he was traded. That said, I see no reason we can't bring him back and stick him on the bench, and just have him come in as an experienced vet to take pressure off the young guns in the playoffs. |

Eddie is like one of my favorite lakers BUT he is a bit long in the tooth and the lakers don't need him unfortunately. |

I was pissed when I heard Eddie was traded. Stupid Shaq traded Eddie For Glen. Its Shaq's fault! He doesn't like Eddie. |

I chanted "Eddie Eddie" at the Forum but we don't need him. The team is fine the way it is. The trade deadline can't come fast enough. |

Memphis Grizzlies' guard Eddie Jones admits that there is a chance he could be waived by the team with the NBA's worst record, and he's hoping to get picked up by a contending team.
"There's a lot of truth to it," Jones said. "I want to play for a team to try to win a championship. I can't tell you much more than there's a possibility I could get waived. We'll figure out what I do after that. I would definitely welcome a change."

Of course, it would be great to have Eddie taking up all of McKie's minutes. Every time I see McKie get into a game I just feel bad for him. |

I love Eddie. Really felt for him when GM Shaq traded him (yet, agreed wholeheartedly with the business sense of the trade).
Sentimentally, I would really want him to finish his career in LAL uniform.
I am not superstitious personally. But all players are. There is a known "Eddie Jones curse". He will not be a Laker. At least, I don't think so... |

I was sad too, but at the time I thought it was a good move to get Glen Rice. Rice was not as good as we would have liked, but no other Laker scored as much playing alongside Shaq and Kobe during the championship run. That said, if we had Phil at the time I don't think that trade would have happened.
We might have won more than 3 if we'd kept Eddie Jones. Now, I'd welcome him back, but wouldn't have expectations. _________________ -

Trading Eddie had more to do about finances than play on the court. Even Phil wouldn't have been able to save him. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Absolutely correct. Eddie was 'due' his first big contract with 'little known' #8 playing behind him. Foxie was also due his 'shakehand agreement' bigger money than vet min $1mm he played for... To give max or close to the max money to Eddie would have been ridiculous... |
