I have not seen this rookie in an NBA court yet, but just watching his potential from highlights he may become the best player between Ball, BI, Kuz & Hart.

He will only turn 19 this November, he got the wingspan to be an elite defender, he has the frame & body to move people out of the way, he has the handles be very versatile on offense, he has shown very good footwork, body control and vision at this young age. If we can work with him early and get him to shoot with a good clip and build up his body and remove those baby fat I can see all star potential in the future. He is not an elite athlete but with those wingspan and frame you don't need to be very effective, if you know how to use it.

I looked at THT's instagram account and he looks like he is still out of shape.

Talen Horton-Tucker gets votes in NBA Rookie Survey as possible steal of the draft

"At least one of his fellow rookies is a fan of new Lakers draft pick Talen Horton-Tucker."

Lakers’ Training Camp Mystery: Meet Talen Horton-Tucker

Quote:
Despite being lauded as one of the biggest steals in the second round of the NBA Draft, nobody really knows just how good Talen Horton-Tucker can actually be.
Not turning 19 until November 25th and possessing some of the most unique physical gifts in the league, Horton-Tucker is undoubtedly an intriguing prospect yet has some fundamental flaws that caused him to slip deep into the second round.

In this league, I see him as a PF. We will see.

He did defend PFs for ISU. They played three guards, THT, and a center. I see him as a SF who could defend PF and SG if necessary. His potential to switch is his calling card.

A 6'4" PF??? Wingspan isn't everything...!!! If he doesn't grow more, he will not have much of future in the league (or any at all) at Power Forward, IMO. Shooting guard is where he'll have an advantage over the opposition, i.e., if he is also quick. If not, then Small Forward.

THT is a great mystery to me.

Doesn't look in shape right now which isn't good to start with.

But his length is so intriguing and ability to handle the ball.

I think his in-shapeness is a bit of a mystery but it might be "looks can be deceiving.... in a jersey". His body fat % at the combine was solid; a % or 2 below Randle, Smart ; a few % below Myles Turner and Montrezl. The same as Booker and Dlo.
https://stats.nba.com/draft/combine-anthro/#!?sort=BODY_FAT_PCT&dir=1 you can scroll through the years; also click the body fat % column to put that in order

Some guys do fill out a jersey more than others / are naturally wider

Maybe they gave him BI's shorts and jersey or something.

Most Interesting Lakers No. 11:

Talen Horton-Tucker is a walking, breathing, basketball enigma.

Quote:
Horton-Tucker officially measured in at 6’2” (without shoes), 235 pounds (8.4 percent body fat; tied for highest among all guards), a wingspan that surpassed 7’1” (the longest among all guards) and monster hand dimensions of 9.5 inches long (third-most among all players measured; just a whisker below Kawhi Leonard’s “Klaw”) and 9.75 inches wide.

It's 6'2.5 without shoes at the NBA combine. And it is possible that he is still growing.

That's part of why he slipped in the draft.

More like an inch and a quarter. Wade was 6'3 3/4 w/o shoes. THT is 6'2.5 w/o shoes. THT's wingspan which is 7'1.25 is longer than Wade's 6'10.75 wingspan.
