If Howard doesn’t add anything to the team then we win 50-55 games just based on the dynamic duo of AD + LeBron but if Howard brings back some of his level of play from his ORL days then we can win 60+

If we play Dwight in the role he had from his ORL days, we won't win 35.

It's a different player and a different era, Gadget. And in the limited time he'll be playing, to expect 60+ wins is highly unrealistic. In my opinion.

If he can play like prime Shaq, we could near 70 wins.

Still wish we had a player who could add a bit more dynamic playmaking in the backcourt.

Yeah. Hopefully it doesn't take a toll on Lebron/AD. They're really going to have to carry about 50% of the scoring. About 30ppg for AD and 25ppg Lebron. We'll probably be in the bottom half of the league in pace as well, which should help a little. This roster would play well in the triangle

Depends. Lakers are definitely betting on the come, but if the other 5 of the top 7 produce at their career averages (some will do better, some worse):

Bradley (12.0)
Green (9.0)
Kuzma (17.3)
Howard (17.4)
KCP (11.9)

The Lakers will be at/near the top of the league in scoring - particularly if the outside shots fall. They'll dominate the paint scoring.

I didn't read the article, but I would buy into the idea that the Lakers could win 51 games total, regular season and playoffs combined, if all goes well health-wise with both LJ and AD. It's a reasonable take.

Bradley can really help the backcourt with his ability to attack in the open court and create his own shot. Rondo is still a pretty dynamic playmaker who averaged a lot of assists last season.

Let's also not underestimate Kuzma's ability to score and take the load off Lebron and AD.

I don't think playing at a slow pace is a good idea for us. Our frontcourt has plenty of footspeed, and we don't have any true post players that we can use to slow down the pace. We have to uptempo the game and just make sure we make good decisions in transition.

If you've listened to Vogel this offseason, he has no intention of playing at a slow pace.

Sounds about right based on what the players did last year. This is basically assuming Dwight is not an effective starter in the league anymore, Lebron is declining, AD is our best player and a top 10 player in the league, no starting level PG. Questionable coaching staff on offense. Based on all of that, I understand why we are expected to win 50sh games.

What we will need to win more is Lebron to revert back to a MVP player, one of the guards to step up and be a reliable 5th option and 3nD PG starting level player. If that happens, I think we can win 55sh range. We have elite talent. Kuzma as well is a wild card. He can make our bench have a bench mob mentality, a bench that can allow starters to rest and change momentum in games that starters do not bring it. So there are some things that can alternate the prediction, but 50sh wins is about right based on what these players did last year and what our coaching staff's past ability has been.
