Are you expecting Howard to make a Impact with those stats?

Then absolutely. I expect that he will back up McGee and on close games we will see AD at center. So he gets maybe 20 minutes per game average. Getting some put backs, working the board, and protecting the paint during that 20 min is his defined role. That is an impactful stat line for that role and those minutes.

not sure what to expect, but what is needed is rebounding and defense. I suspect that he is going to be pretty solid.

I know LG loves Zubac but Howard at the age of 33 is still miles better then him, if both matched up together this season I don’t think Zu can handle Howard.. I think Zu has a better chance at success with playing against McGee.

I think there's a continuum of how empty a player's stats can be. But anyway, for Howard his positive contribution should be on defense where outside of blocks it won't show up on a basic box score. The stats people will point to - the points and boards - I expect will be pretty hollow since he tends to suck the life out of an offense while getting his points and I believe (need to double check) that in the past few seasons his teams have rebounded better without him on the floor as he hunts boards at the expense of blocking out.

Did any of his Lakers teammates besides McGee celebrate when Zu was traded? Because some members of the Atlanta Hawks were reportedly elated when Dwight got traded (before being traded again and then cut).

I would love to be proven wrong, but it’s pretty simple imo:

Dwight and Melo were available for a reason. If they were any good, someone would have signed them. Especially in Dwight’s case where there are a couple of contenders who could use a traditional 5.
