AIDS has typically been a "terminal illness" and it is sex/gender indiscriminate.

He should’ve been in the gym practicing. Running around everywhere with shirt off thinking he is JR Smith

Oh, I guess he shouldn't be going to the beach like everyone else on a hot weekend. He should just be in the gym. Jesus Christ, people are over analyzing this guy. Let him be. At least he is getting in shape. And, if anyone knows Venice beach, there are always people there....and others filming.

Happy for Dwight and may he keep doing this stuff...

Dwight has not yet earned the benefit of the doubt. Yes he's entitled to go to the beach and all but this does seem like attention seeking (there's no way you going to get a good practice session in hooping on a blacktop and a ocean breeze).

To me, it looked like he was just fooling around, rather than having a "practice session." It's not unusual to see celebrities and NBA guys hooping it up on Venice Beach so I wouldn't read anything into it.

Training camp is still 3 weeks away. As long as D39 shows up in shape and ready to compete he can showboat dunk all he wants right now.

Good and bad he is a huge personality and loves being around people and attention.. He is also clearly in amazing shape and putting in the work so that's the last thing i'm worried about in a random off season weekend. How he fits and accepts all his roles is my only concern and even that I think he will be fine.

The contract they gave him made the signing that much better. He has no room for error if he wants to remain relevant on a good team.

Thank you Too much....that's all we're saying here...in shape ready to compete and play his role....some poster here won't even accept that from him. Good to see there are some positive vibes here for him.

One thing for sure. This guy loves being here in LA and i believe he will do all possible to pay back the Lakers Fans very well. One question is don't you think the Clippers would have given him the same deal if he wanted to go there? That tells you this guy wants to make it up to the Lakers.

Yes. That's the correct interpretation.

Yeah, the Venice Beach thing was planned... But in a good way. Reconnect with fans, try to get back in their good graces and show he's in shape and ready to compete. Dwight is a celebrity and he wants the admiration of others as most celebrities do.

He also probably wants to make it up to Lakers fans. He knows he screwed up in retrospect.

That, and his career has never been the same since. It's all a do over.

Doubtful that he cares about making it up to the fans.

Likelier that he wants to change the narrative about his career, rebrand himself, win a ring and maybe position himself better for life post-NBA. Clowning around in a TNT or ESPN studio is exactly the thing that would appeal to D39, but his reputation was shot. This is reinvention.

Neitherless looking the article below

https://thebiglead.com/2019/09/10/dwight-howard-lakers-in-shape/amp/

He is in insane shape. Now sure if anyone in the NBA looks as muscular as him right now. Whatever his intentions up to this point he has shown commitment to being in shape and yes I think deserves a “clean slate” till proven otherwise.
