I see your point but it is hard to project what Griffin would have demanded from the Lakers. I don't believe Randle would have been a priority.

Agree 100%. AD is a top player but has always needed someone like Lebron to feed him the ball. It takes a group effort to win a title. Even with Kawhi, Lowry and the other vet players on Toronto, it took the emergence of Pascal to win. We are going to need that breakout player if we want to contend for a title.

Kawhi mid 1st
Lowry late 1st
Siakam late 1st
Gasol mid 2nd
Ibaka late 1st

This is what happens when guys jump to the league fairly young. They still need to mature and develop their skills.

The LAL picks didn't get enough time as a Laker. But seeing Randle and DLO succeed doesn't surprise me either.

Hell, we need those two on this team.

1) Who do you get rid of to accommodate their $45,000,000.00 in combined salary?

2) How come Randle hasn't gotten any max offers the last 2 seasons (when epic numbers of teams had cap space)?

1. I don't understand the first question.
2. Randle isn't a franchise player yet. That doesn't mean he isn't valuable.

Knicks just paid him $20mil a year. That's actually a pretty awesome contract when the value of bigs is RAPIDLY declining. Why?

Randle actually has some guard skills on both ends.

You wouldn’t have to get rid of anyone. Of course if you did keep the kids, the Buss brats would have to consider paying luxury tax. By playing the FA game that wouldn’t happen.

Would they still have been able to acquire AD? Not sure how the $ would work.

If you keep the kids, and maybe extend a few, you try to trade for AD, just like everyone else. Considering AD's contract is up in a year, maybe a mid-season trade after admitting he won't resign in New Orleans or NYK?

The difference here is, LAL would be retaining so much more of their drafted talent.
