What's his defensive potential like? At first glance he looks to be in the mold of Iguodala on that side of the court.

I think it’s interesting that Williams shared a pro day with Kostas and as soon as Kostas was released we hopped on him and have him a 2-way. I think most people were pleasantly surprised with Williams last season and maybe Kostas was the guy they really liked from that workout.

Maybe he was being developed by the mace differently than the way the lakers see him. I wonder if instead of trying to develop him like his bro giannis we develop him as a versatile defender. Maybe we have our wing defender afterall.

They better develop him differently from Giannis because, they're not the same dude. There's too big of a gap between IQ and instincts. Nevermind the skill set.

Yep, about 5 points and 4 rebounds in the g-league.

Most Interesting Lakers No. 17: Is Kostas Antetokounmpo just a way to (legally) tamper with Giannis, or could he be something more?

Defensively Kostas can be as dynamic on the perimeter as Ingram was for us. His lateral movement is far from lumbering. He can handle
the rock well enough to initiate breaks off rebounds, and he has shown acumen with respect to shot blocking and taking charges. He can be a defensive anchor on a team that needs that Ibaka factor on it.

Imo he moves laterally in accordance with his height, 6’11. very high hips long legs, his baby giraffe-ness shows most moving laterally. If he was a switchy and super high leaping kid, with ball handling skills - I don’t think the Mavs would have let him go after 1 year. His flaws are lateral movement , strength, shooting

Would love to see vogel get experimental playing him at the 5. In the d league it seemed as if he was played at the 5.

Kostas Antetokounmpo has been cut from the Greek squad, tweets Marc Stein of The New York Times.

The move leaves the team with just two Antetokounmpo brothers, Giannis and Thanasis.
It has been an eventful summer for Kostas, who was waived by the Mavericks last month and claimed by the Lakers.

if he becomes a good player, it increases our chance at Giannis imo. If he's always a fringe rotation guy(at best), I don't think that's the optimal "play with my brother " situation.

Kostas Antetokounmpo: Out Saturday (ankle sprain)

There has been no reporting to suggest Antetokounmpo's injury is serious.
The Lakers are likely holding him out for precautionary reasons.

So, when do we get to see him in a game so we can compare him with Cacok for the 2-way?

I haven't seen KA since last season. But I do know that Cacok will be quite a formidable opponent. In other words ; it's gonna be close, either way.

He kind of had a little euro-step in there? Can't believe I'm a little excited about a J Kidd + Phil Handy combo for Kostas.
