If something is obviously yours, do you have to keep saying it? I don't need to remind anyone who my wife and kids are, which job is mine, or which house they can't have, etc. It may seem cool, but it sounds desperate, childish, and like someone who lacks confidence.

It's fandom man. Let us enjoy our trash talking.

With your analogy, if a guy comes over and eats your wife's cooking, hugs your kids, sits on your couch, and so on and so on, you're not going to sit their quietly because you know they're yours?

Maybe we have different perspectives? Are you from L.A.?

Maybe someone else has reasons why we do the "our city" stuff.

I believe in the old school theory of when you score a touchdown, act like you've been there before. If you're confident and sure of yourself, you don't need to do what others do. I realize that's a different perspective. A good bowler, or good shooter doesn't need to floss when they do something good. People know who they are.

I realize the media fuels a lot/most of it, but fans do it to.

I don't deny anyone their joy, it just seems like it's over the top now that it's time for game 1.

Most arguments in the media are raised to get a rise out of the people.

w/o the media asking that question fans wouldn't in LA because the answer is obvious.

I dont think any Laker fans have to remind themselves. We just want to remind the 100 or so real Clipper fans and the stupid media that LA HATES the Clippers no matter what.

I dunno. Comes off as a bit insecure. You don’t hear the Yankees reminding people who runs their city.

Yup. Number one rule is you don’t punch down. If you do, it is usually a sign of weakness or insecurity.

Agree. Ballmer seems to have the Buss family shook.

Not surprising though, he has the $$. The Yankees deal with dysfunctional and cheap Mets ownership.

Ballmer is a real threat and Buss family needs to sell if they can’t match...

I laugh at the thought. It doesn't exist. Of course it is a Lakers town. Nothing to be said really. Hopefully the Clips can move at some point so they can have their own thing.

I agree... But the talk of Clips possibly making inroads is also to blame. If someone says the sky is purple unless they are Prince... Or if someone asks you the Clone Wars is better than Empire if you care about Star Wars or just being factual... You will correct the fallacy.

Honestly I don't go around arguing this point but if someone says maybe if Clips win it will change whose town it is... I laugh because Angles have won two chips since the Dodgers last won... Has anything changed?!
