Cacok or last season’s J Williams? Who would you rather have?

Cacok has a better touch around the rim and he's a better rebounder but Williams perimeter defense of big men was very good; he rotated very well. Each brings a different skill-set but they contribute about the same.

Cacok continues to play well. He had several hustle plays on both ends of the floor tonight.

3-3 fg for 6 points on slams and layups with 1 reb & 1 blk.

Why the team needs to develop Devontae Cacok
Quote:
The Los Angeles Lakers have done a great job finding under the radar prospects in recent years and Devontae Cacok may be their most recent find.

Yes the Lakers cut him but he cleared waivers as most expected him to and he signed with the south bay Lakers . Any team can pick him up since he isnt signed to a two way or to the main laker roster, I would sign him if a spot was made available through a trade; lakers would most likey send out two guaranteed contracts to make the money work in any Iguadala deal which would make another spot available.

If Cacok had played for that Gonzaga team instead of Brandon Clarke, does he get drafted?

For sure considering he also led the nation in rebounding.

What about if Clarke had played on Cacok's team, does he get drafted?

I understand Clarke is a superior athlete, but Cacok is no slouch in that area either. So does the gap in athleticism warrant Clarke getting drafted in the first round and Cacok not all? I ask this because the rest of their skills seem to be pretty comparable to me.

Cacock plays hard and can be explosive in spurts. He takes it aggressively to the hole and finishes well at the rim. My wife loves Cacock, and I am sure his value is rising or at least holding firm. Apparently, he's's not out of reach around the league if another team claims him.

This kid could hang defensively right now. He can guard 4 positions.

He’s the Lakers answer to Harrell if developed correctly and given a shot.

I know people gave the news in another thread, but let's bump this one: Cacok signed a 2-way contract.

GP II (The Mitten) is showing some promise, as well.
He's the next David Nwaba.....with better handles...

Bye Zach.
I thought he might get to spend some time with the Lakers with Rondo and Bradley taking turns on the IR.
