I forget the sequence of events this summer. We’re we only trading Wagner to open up a max space for KL? Or were we going to dump Wagner anyway? _________________ Billions Billions Billions |

We might have done a LOT of things differently if we didn't chase Kawhi. Bonga/Wagner were the final cap space casualties. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Watched some Wagner this season, he would be a nightmare as the stretch 5 paired with AD.
Like a more agile, dynamic Brook Lopez.
Oh well. Lots of talent given up by the Lakers, let’s hope it all works out with a chip or two. |

Basically, Bonga/Wags were the casualty of Deng's 5m+ cap hold. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Admit I didn't see Wagner play this year, but I'm always careful with players putting good stats for one of the worst team in the league. Sure it's unfortunate we had to dump him for nothing (going after KL was worth the shot), but would he even be playing if he played for the Lakers ? Do we go after Dwight if we keep him ? |

He wouldn't be getting any minutes on this team. |

Or I suppose if we could have delayed the AD trade 30 days. |

But that would have meant we didn't have the cap space to chase KL, right? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Because every opposing GM has always wanted to help the Lakers, even if it costs their own team cap space. Such a tragic failure for our FO not to realize this, we could've kept one of the worst defensive Centers in the league and let Dwight go to the Clippers. |

Agreed - we gave up some serviceable players to get AD.
Can we move on now? _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

I doubt that we go after Cousins if we kept him _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I doubt Wagner is the reason we go or not after Cousins… |

It would have been nice if Wagner could have saved us from wasting money on Cousins. Instead spend on a PG. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Except had we kept Wagner, we still would have spend money on Cousins. It's Howard who wouldn' be here IMO... |

Nope. Howard would have been here so long as DMC didnt hurt himself. |

Not sure I get your point here, you think we'd have McGee + Wagner + Cousins + Howard ? |

Yes.
Having Cousins is not having Cousins. Remove from your list.
We would have McGee/Wagner/Howard
And probably not ... oh... im going to say Quinn Cook since I think he was signed with cap space. |

OK, I don't agree with you, because I think with Wagner as an option at center, even with Cousins injury, I'm not sure they would be desperate to sign a center, which they were when they tried Howard and Noah in workouts. But that's just my opinion, you may be right... One thing is for sure, we are very very lucky with Howard, the odds of him playing for the Lakers this year were very low... |

We have 4 PGs none of which were or are seriously injured. So the idea we might have had 4 bigs (one of whom isn’t playable due to injury, so 3 playable) isn’t that crazy. Plus, one of the bigs cannot regularly play over 25 mins (McGee). So just having Mo would very be unlikely to me.
It would have been Mo spending some time at 4 and 3rd string 5, Howard (or other cente) as backup 5. McGee starter. DMC waiting. |
