IMO top tier is Popovich, Budenholzer, D'Antoni, Stevens, Snyder, Carslisle, and Vogel. Not sure where I'd rank Vogel among then. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Raptors are a surprise.
They have proven they are more than just Kahwi's coattails.
In fact, kahwi was fortunate to have had them last season.
So, the coach of Raptors should be the best so far. _________________ Kobe's Top 5 Dunks, 81 points, MJ last gm @Staples

OPs list is a big diss to Nick Nurse. Wins a chip with Kawhi and still one of the best teams in the East with no real superstar. Also one of the only 2 teams to beat the Lakers.
Can’t say until he shows his management in a playoff series with this group. Loved what he did in that context with Indy. But things have evolved. Going to have a shot this April.
Top 10 is about right. Fits us well. Guess he's the sort of guy you want when you have good players and a good team. He can turn it into a tough minded defensive ball club that plays together. Same thing as Indiana.
No elite standing unless he proves he can win playoff series that lead to a championship.
People had rated him as an assistant or lower bottom 5 level in the summer. I think that is completely false. He's a damn smart guy and it was clear from his press conference, and initial interviews, Luke Walton/Byron Scott/D'Antoni he was not.

So we ignore the job that Walton has done in Sacramento? No all NBA players and their best player out but they have become a team that will compete. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Wow, not one peep about Kerr in this thread. Was he just a pretender all this time? LOL
I can coach a team with Durant, Curry, Klay, Green, Iggy and rest of the crew and win a chip.
My dog can as well
Are you saying your dog is as good as Walton? _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

I like Walton more than a lot of people here. His buddy Mermuys is at it again, though, crafting one of the lowest scoring offenses in the league. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

This thread is about top 10 coaches in the league, in which a solid case is being made for Vogel being among them. Are you actually trying to make a case that Luke Walton belongs in this discussion? Luke Walton of the failed Lakers stint, and the 7-10 start in Sacramento? I don't think Walton is necessarily a bad coach per se, but to try and insert him into this discussion is absurd (although not surprising considering your usual agenda).

I assume you're no Phil Jackson fan, then? _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. And people who would be happy in heaven if Christ were not there, will not be there."

Any current top 5 should include Nurse. What hes done missing Lowry, Ibaka and Leonard is great coaching, not to mention the GM as well.
I put Vogel 6-8 with potential for higher. The team seems to be buying into his culture. As season goes we will get a better idea. So far great with managing an ego like LBJ in the locker.
